Pellegrini has made City a 'happy' club again, claims Begiri

All well and good as long as it leads to performances and results.

None of us will look back on this era and immediately think "what a great era, the players were so happy in the workplace and chappy got a good morning each day".

We've been scoring goals for fun, have completed the domestic treble since the takeover and the Premier League is in our own hands. I can't believe people are struggling to see things are good at City with Pellegrini in charge.

Exactly. So why don't we celebrate that fact? Revel in the great times we have had since the takeover. 3 domestic trophies is something I thought I would never see. Hell one would have been a miracle. Right now even if we don't win the league I am made up with the League Cup win to get the clean sweep of domestic honours so why bring up (again) the Mancini wasn't fucking Gandhi narrative? Like there isn't anyone on the planet who thinks otherwise. Embrace the positives instead of whining about Mancini not been very nice. All it does is get the fanbase arguing (again) and makes Txiki look smalltime.

The club and Chappy have once again tried to discredit the former manager. Small time behaviour.

I'm curious, what was your opinion of Mancini referring to Khaldoon as Judas, or him referring to Soriano as someone who "knows nothing about football, the guy from the airline".

The Soriano comment was equally petty and spiteful and Mancini let himself down there.

I always thought he was supportive of Khaldoon and blamed others for undermining him. I do not remember that comment being attributed to Khaldoon but again if accurate it is petty and childish. However were commenting on the release of a tv programme by City.

You made a good point earlier about City not editing it out. The fact is the club is happy for the former manager to be discredited. That is poor form and unprofessional.

I think you had lots to say about Mancini's comments but seem to defend Chappys? Can I ask why you have not taken a consistent approach?

Maybe it's a little bit of payback for Mancini's "stabbed in the back/Judas" comments in an interview a little while ago?
Mancini missed a trick in not employing his own kit man. One who wouldn't have complained that he never said good morning to him ;)

We need another Mancini thread do we? I don't feel it's been discussed enough yet...

Txiki and Chappy clearly thought so as they felt that the point about Mancini not being the warmest person they ever met wasn't getting enough media exposure :)

Chappy said the players are "infinitely"happier than they were last season. This is reflected in the performances and results so far this season. It's a fact, and it's neither a controversial nor particularly offensive statement.

Calling the guy who's just paid you out an eight figure compensation package for a job you didn't really want anymore anyway "judas" is simply not the same. Nor is describing the CEO of the club you've just left as knowing nothing about football and that guy from span air when he was for so long such a big part of Barcelona FC. Both of those comments are "infinitely" more small time, bitter, and insecure.

Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain weren't there when Mancini was recruited so it's natural they wanted their own man who embraced their vision. Garry Cook was Mancini's main ally so it was only a matter of time once he'd been asked to step down. Mancini has been unpleasant about the regime at City so Txiki sending it back whilst he struggles at Galatasary isn't a problem. We all do it.

Nevertheless, I'm really looking forwards to the documentary. Hopefully it'll be as entertaining as Blue Moon Rising was.

Must admit I don't remember thinking when we got thumped 3-0 at Spurs in 2009 that what we needed was a really nice guy to make the players happy.

Do not be confused Billy. There is no issue with the City is a happier place comments. The fact Chappy inferred Mancini was not very polite and would not even say hello in the morning. Do you think that is childish and petty and not something the club should have edited out?

He got compensation because the club chose to sack him one year into a contract the club offered 12 months previous. He has no reason to be grateful as the club offered him and then broke the contract.

Anyway this discussion is about the comments on the tv programme not Mancini comments about Soriano.

All you are arguing is which side comes across as more small time, bitter and insecure. City should not put themselves in a position where this argument can be made. Txiki as senior management should not be raising the issue but instead be focusing on the positives. By raising it it starts to look like the animosity is more personal than professional. Allowing Chappers to comment on the previous manager is unprofessional. When Pellers goes are we going to get an in depth interview with Chappers as he takes us through the pros and cons of the Pellers regime and where he thinks Pellers went wrong?

No one has an issue with Chappers disliking Mancini. No one frankly cares who Chappers dislikes or likes its the fact that 10 months later we still can't seem to 'get over it' that is telling and to some extent makes City look a bit 'small time, bitter and insecure'.
