A debate that has been discussed in the Pellegrini thread.
Apologies I have dipped in and out of it but not read it all and did not spot that bit. Any idea what page?

Some of it on pge 38 but there are other pages as well.
Thanks, I thought I had read todays instalments as well.
Mods please lock thread if seen.

Re: Pellegrini and RSC

We've got to hope that the heirachy are about to appoint the right manager , they appear to believe that he is , but only time will tell .... Pellegrini appears to done reasonably well so far , without achieving anything spectacular.

RSC scored around 15 goals in Spain after playing more than sixty games there during loan spells at Betis and Malaga , which is about a 1 in 4 ratio , but City have released him and that's that .....

if Pellegrini and RSC's paths ever cross again it'll probably be as both men finish their respective careers , maybe back in South America or somewhere.

Wow, mirror have done well to get such a detailed insight into Pellegrini and Txiki's plans for formations and resources.

(Did anyone ever confirm a new text colour to denote sarcasm ?)

Another provocative headline by the Mail that will incite loads of anger.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2338111/Manchester-City-wont-play-Englishman-Manuel-Pellegrini.html?ito=feeds-newsxml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... ds-newsxml</a>

English players to lose out in Pellegrini reign as City to usher in 'La Liga era'

We can only hope.

If Hart, Richards and Rodwell are the only home based players to have some kind of a future at the club, it will mean having a tiny squad to work with as we can only use 17 foreigners.

Under the headline 'Gossip' (and what appears to be a Sunday rehash) in the MUEN........

City's English players are set to lose out once Manuel Pellegrini is named the club's new manager.

The Blues are expected to unveil the Chilean coach this week and he is reported to have agreed to follow the Barcelona blueprint, with every City side from youth to the first team playing with a fluid 4-3-3 formation.

Jesus Navas and Fernandinho have already been signed, with Isco set to follow, and Pellegrini believes the new system will suit them better than the likes of Englishmen Gareth Barry, Jack Rodwell and James Milner.

Joleon Lescott and Micah Richards are seen as back-up options in defence so keeper Joe Hart could be the only Englishman to be a regular starter at the Etihad next season

Exact same story and content in todays Mail on Sunday.
Don't tell me these hacks / journo's don't get their heads together to spin a story?
Agenda or coincidence?

We would probably have more English players in the squad if championship teams did not value players who have played 90 minutes of football in the 10-15 million bracket.
Anyhow take the aging terry, cole and Lampard from Chelsea and whats left. Most of Utds English have been bought at huge costs and Arsenal don't have many either with Chamberlain again costing a lot.
I don't see their point really as many of the above teams arnt regulars anyhow for their teams

Chamberlains the only one worth having. Baines would be worth buying if we didn't already have a better left back.
