Pellegrini to give youth a chance, but who

When players are trying to make the step up the ONLY way to see if they can do it is to throw them in at the deep end and see if they can swim. Before you do that, however, you have to have nurtured them in the WAY YOU PLAY AT SENIOR LEVEL, which is why there has been so much emphasis placed on this concept by Pellegrini and Txiki, and why Vieira has been put in charge of the EDS.

As this season develops, Pellegrini will KNOW who has the ability to play a fast, attacking, high tempo passing game and who isn't. THAT will determine who moves up to the first team bench. From there, it will the SCORE or an injury that will determine who and when gets their chance in games that really matter (Premier League, Champs League).

One thing that Ferguson did so well for decades, and Rodgers did so well last season, albeit with mixed final results, is to put a guy in the team and trust him. It takes a brave man to put a guy in and stick with him. Is Pellegrini that guy, or will it be "one chance and out" because of the pressure to win everything?

Hope Guidetti is fit enough to use preseason as a springboard into our squad.

I understand Sunderland are keen to take him on loan if we choose to go down that road.

Huws is another I think may surprise us and do well.

No he didn't, that's a myth perpetrated by himself not since the so called fergies fledglings of neville, giggs, butt & scholes who all were given a chance in the first few years of the prem (91-93) when the money was only just starting to roll in and most clubs were bringing through youth players the rags have only thrown darren fletcher into the squad without first sending them out on at least a season long loan deal to either a club in the top 2 tiers of the english leagues or a european league. Beckham, richardson, shawcross, evans, o'shea, wellbeck, cleverly etc have all been assessed away from the club before being risked by the rags, slur never risked loosing out on silverware for the advancement of youth, he either bloods them away from the club or buys young players with first team experience already.

That's the why like fegie if we loan young players out we need to get them in prem or european top tier teams to get big game experience playing consistently rather than throwing them into league cup game randomly or like Razak 3 loan spells in the 2nd div getting no game time anyway that will only stunt their progress, Guidetti has had that experience in holland and should be given a chance in the team (they will though always be that exceptional talent who will walk straight into a team who if we have/find should be given the opportunity)

As for Rodger I admire him blooding the youth at liverpool and would love us to do the same once we have manny settled into the job
