Will be interesting to see how they differ.(this week?)

They way the (London based) Journalists treat both Managers. What questions they ask them. And the general mood towards both Managers.

No doubt the Journalist will be falling over themselves when it comes to Mourinho. They love him, especially the London based Journalists. I'm 100% sure the questions will be loaded in Mourinho's favour. I expect nothing but positive headlines in the coming days.

Moving on to Pellegrini.

Once again I'm 100% sure Pellegrini can handle the *Wolf Pack*. However, I'd like our PR Department(here we go again :-) ) to give him plenty of protection. Make it clear from the off, what and what isn't allowed.

I want this press conference to be positive and not to dwell on Mancini, etc. I want it to focus on Pellegrini, his vision for the club, the players, and where he wants to take us. What his priorities and ultimate goals are. I don't won't the press conference to get bogged down in trench warfare.(Mancini's first press conference)

Welcome Mr Pellegrini. :-)

I think we'll find that the orders have already gone out in brown paper envelopes from OT telling the hacks what approach to take to Pellegrini. "Worst kept secret in football" at the Etihad v "seemless transition at OT", "Buying foreigners" v "developing young British talent". "Malaga are banned from European competition, Mr P. City are going to fail FFPR too, aren't thet." That kind of thing, I suspect.

A much easier ride for Jose...

And...

"How many games have you been given to keep your job?"

If we had any sense it would just be announced on MCFC, followed by an in-house interview published on CityTV.

We don't have any contractual obligations to have a presser for a new Manager.

you can see the evening news back page now
he's shit he's shit everything about city is shit
but over at o/t everything is wonderfull
and thats why they have to give the rag loving paper away for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. This is exactly how Chelsea handled it. Announcement then in-house interview with the presser a week later.

We do have to do a presser though. Not doing so just gives the media license to print stories about City hiding the new manager from the press - 'City have no confidence in new manager' 'Pellegrini can hide now but can't when the season starts' etc etc

Dealing with the media is an unavoidable part of Pellers job. It can't be ducked and certainly not right at the beginning.

The usual 'love in' for both Mourinho and Moyes I imagine.

Does anyone know how good Pellegrini's english is? I honestly think it would be better for us if he didn't speak a word or at least pretended to outside the dressing room. Given the way Mancini was treated it would be better if they thought they were getting nothing from the man from the outset.

We could then serve up Brian Kidd to whack away the mischievous questions all day long.

What would be f'in hilarious is for Pellegrini to answer the questions aggressively in Spanish, taking 1 or 2 minutes per answer, and then for a translator to simply say, 'yes', 'no', 'may be', 'it's still important'.

Would piss myself laughing :D

Just heard a comment on talksport that was quite interesting "The press won't want to upset Jose and risk being banned before the season has even started" They're obviously seeing Mourinho's as the main man this season and he'll probably get the same sort of respect and all round arse licking that was previously reserved for bacon face.
I can't see them being so respectful towards Pellegrini. The city PR team are going to be busier than ever.
