Penalty Taker

Who should take penalties if Haaland is not on the pitch?

It shouldn’t be a question , the manager decides who takes them , not who fancies it at the time .

I've noticed that Sergio is a high-risk penalty taker. He likes to hit them right into the side netting, if he can. If he gets it right, it looks really sweet, and the keeper has no chance whatsoever of getting to it. But it is, as I say, high risk. My general impression is the KDB doesn't feel he needs that level of accuracy. He whacks it and gets it in the general area of one of the two top corners. Force and speed does the rest.
Raz, meanwhile, has developed a ‘third way’.

(I can smile about it now, but I think the neighbours thought some sort of domestic violence was going on last night for a few seconds).

He won't take one, if he does ever miss then Pep will be a laughing stock if they go down the other end and score and he won't set himself up for that.

A shoot out pen, yes.
Definetely have Eddie in a shootout, he doesnt show nerves and can fairly hit a ball.
Remember Hart scoring a couple in shootouts for us and u21s.

Would we really do that? Just get an outfield player that can score from 12 yards FFS ( and I don’t mean Mahrez)
I wouldn't as I would expect that at least one of our players is capable of addressing a ball whilst watching the body movement of a keeper and then either opening or closing his foot to go either way with his shot. Much how you can either hook or fade a golf shot by correcting the club at impact. That's all Mario and Yaya did, the simply watched the keeper as they approached the ball and almost always went the other way. They didn't send the keeper the wrong way as such, they just watched for the keeper to commit and then were capable of correcting their foot if needed. Too many of our players are simply concentrating on the ball and last night was typical. In truth the Brighton keeper could have gone for a shite and Sterling would not have noticed. In fact, it's absolutely staggering that with even more restrictions on the keeper at a penalty than ever, our ability to score them has got worse.

Posted this in the post match thread, belongs here.....

City have missed seven penalties in the Premier League since the start of last season, more than any other side. Three of these have been missed by Raheem Sterling.

Aguero's record in league game is 27 from 32 = 84%
Aguero's record in league games under Pep is 12 from 14 = 86%

They are top quality figures better than the majority of leading strikers. He's had his recent probs in CL and domestic cups when he was down at about 75% conversion rate.

I wouldn't hesitate to let the little smiley fooker take them again upon his return. I want him to have every possibility to score as many as goals as he can in the short time he's left with us. Want him to climb even further up the scoring charts/ best strike rate etc etc and cement his position as the best striker in PL history.

He did take at good one at Wembley though against Chelsea
As soon as we are awarded a penalty Sterling should be dragged off the pitch immediately.
His penalty fiasco against Wolves was ridiculous.
Having your 2 penalty shots saved should be enough to tell you give them to someone else
If any normal minded player did that they'd surely know that penalties are not for them.
