Penalty Taker

Who should take penalties if Haaland is not on the pitch?

Players miss pens but I think the media spotlight on City has led to a situation developing whereby the terrible misses from appalling penalty takers, namely Jesus and Sterling, have led to a kind of witch hunt when perfectly fine takers like Kun or Kev or Gundog miss one or two and Pep has a knee jerk reaction and changes the taker.

I’d give it Kev or Gundog and tell them that regardless of any missed pens they will be the taker for the full season.

I think that's City paranoia reaching extreme levels.

I don't remember any media witch hunt over our missed penalties.

I do remember missed penalties in three enormous matches against Liverpool, one in the PSG Champions League quarter final, one in the Tottenham Champions League quarter final and other not so important penalty misses however.

I thought Eddie was supposed to take the next one?

Seriously though; if he did take that tonight, and missed, this place would have made Chernobyl look like the barbecue catching fire in the back garden!

Too right... the pitch forks would have been out.

Great pen and strength of character to take it in such an important game. However we really need to sort this out. We can’t have different players taking pens every time we get one. I was surprised KDB didn’t take it.

I have literally got to the point where I do not feel any emotion when we get a penalty. I do not care what the outcome is. I don't know if that is good or bad?

KDB was gonna take the pen but the delays while the VAR check going on must've put him off so Mahrez stepped up and handled the pressure superbly. Credit to the Algerian Robben for doing so.
He did.

Pep said Mahrez just "decided" (or something to that effect).

Now I know that has gone badly in other situations on other clubs.

I do wonder how that actually played out though.

Fortunately he struck it well.

Wasn't quite top bins or as Pep described it, in the top corner, but the power and accuracy was enough that their keeper (not that great anyway) couldn't get to it.
