I have over a dozen of them. Had to use them in secondary school and always loved them.Bring back the fountain pen
I take a notebook and pen pretty much everywhere with me.
I haven't bought a copy of CAMS since 1986 ;-)Plane spotter?
Someone always has to bring politics into a thread...How do lefties not smudge as they go along?
I normally carry a moleskin A6 paperback notebook (64 pages). I buy them as a 3-pack, and have one in my camera bag, one in my work jacket and one on a shelf at home. I number all the pages, and I also add a key to the front page so I remember to annotate every scribble with a dot, a dash or a 'to do' box. I also write useful phone numbers in the back because if my phone dies, I'm absolutely screwed.I too have notepads and pens to hand at all times. If I think it and dont write it down notes its gone, shopping lists are a nightmare. Notice how three females liked this post. Menopausal brainfog is a bitch.
Your school nun clearly didn’t rap your knuckles enough to “encourage” assimilation to God’s will…be a rightie! It's the weight and balance that gets me. Also, the writing angle. It's a tactile thing. I'm also very particular with eating irons, especially cake spanners.
I used to use a left-handed fountain pen with a curved nib to prevent smudging which was alright, but not comfortable to use for long periods. Being left-handed, I also struggle with whiteboards as I usually end up scrubbing off half of what I've written.
Also, if you notice (and I know this is being picky) any pen or pencil that has writing on, the writing is upside down if you hold it in your left hand ;-)

Only pen you'll ever need , smooth transisition from blue to green in less than a second , no turning the house upside when green ink is required View attachment 171936

My dad is a lefty.Your school nun clearly didn’t rap your knuckles enough to “encourage” assimilation to God’s will…be a rightie!
Dad and sister are/were lefties, but the rest of the family are normal. ;-)
Haha.I keep the wife in one.
I find they smudge a lot easier than the Pentel ones which never doToday, the pen of choice, for ease of both carrying and use, is the Pilot G2. I prefer the 1.0 for writing text, but the 0.7 is far more widely available and the generally accepted standard roller.

However, the best years of my writing life were spent wielding this beauty… The Parker Jotter, sporting blue black ink.

Ah, the good old days of carrying a thick glass bottle of ink for when you ran out, later to be overtaken by the criminally inefficient ink cartridge that, while keeping your hands clean and blotting paper surplus to requirements, stole some of the panache of being a fountain pen user…although it did have a satisfying “click” when the pen punctured the cartridge!
And also the best for sticking a bit of chewed up paper on the back of spotty Herbert's neck.View attachment 171905
Best pen ever made or designed. Ergonomic perfection
