Most of the ones I've thought of have already been mentioned, ie. Kinkladze, Weaver, Dickov, Goater, Rosler, Lee, Bell, Trautmann...

But there must be a place in our Hall of Fame for Marc-Vivien Foe (RIP).

First time I've ever watched that since the day.

Great post. Cheers.

Me too actually, and I am welling up a bit. What a day. I was in the Olympic stand bit at the top, in that late and great stadium that Maine Road was modelled on. Amazing, and if I remember rightly, the Gills brought a very respectable crowd too, but we were fucking awful all through the game. No width or organisation. dreadful.

One of the best days of my life. I will never forget it and I even took my girlfriend at the time, too, she is now my wife and we often talk about that weekend.

Cheers Nicky Weaver, we owe you one, pal.

-- April 16th, 2010, 10:18 pm --

I love that picture, there is a diagram of all the emergency exits behind him....apt or what?

Run Frank, run run run. Their gonna take all your money back mate.

1 HH Sh M
2 Frank (for making the suggestion that 1 might invest)

No one else has put us where we are/want to be. Many have tried but all have failed. Ultimately it's all about money.

yeah Gillingham brought 45,000? YET their average crowd was what? 5,000?

I met Brian Moore outside that day...great fella. He was a Gills fan.

He sadly passed away 2 years later.

God bless the lad and god bless that team. This makes my eyes glaze over now, and the tribute to the fans at the end, from the players is excellent. Happy I was at this match, because hopefully I will see both ends of the spectrum in my lifetime!

The stone ball in the pit of my stomach, watching that, is still as real to me now as it was on the day that this footage was recorded. For fucks sake lads, dont miss...
