I was joking around somewhere on here the other day about hoofing it long and I'm going to admit I loved to see it the other night. Teams arent going to have a clue what we have planned.

If the Burnley game is anything to go by we are going long from Eddie as much as playing out from the back...

It's almost like we've completed another style of footie and showing why we are so hard to beat as we evolve constantly, no other team in the UK or in any main league changes as often as we do.

We did that in response to Kompany setting Burnley up to press our defenders in a numerical advantage while leaving Eddie alone, that gave him time and space to pick longer passes. We've done that ever since guardiola arrived against pressing sides.

I'm of the view he's abandoned his '10 midfielders' mindset and he's going for 9 centre halves and Haaland instead.

It looked like the legion of ball playing centre backs would be the future, but I think there's a big sign when see we don't have that many if we let Laporte go. The idea I reckon is to get to more of a 3-4-3 with Rodri as the DM/CB. Paqueta makes that child's play. Frankly the idea of having a technical and creative lefty back there is tactical porn. Pep tried putting Bernie there last year and it didn't work, also problem with the full backs and integrating Haaland. But it will surely work with Paqueta.
