Pep’s Spurs (H) Post-Match Interview

Dunno about anyone else but I’m loving it all. The difference in opinion, the debate, the passion, Pep’s masterclass in psychology, Jack’s tackle on Son, the second half atmosphere, a fully fit squad, a 4-2 comeback win against the spuds, we’re in the title race, fast attacking football….proper football is back!

He was totally in control of himself, he repeated the message in multiple press conferences.

He got what he wanted to say out there with no room for ambiguity.

Basically saying that the whole club, players, supporters staff, have become complacent and need to wake the fuck up before the season is gone.

Exacly what we've all been seeing every week. Gundo said the same last week.

Lets see what the reaction is, the 2nd half last night was sensational, if we get everyone firing at that level we will blow everyone out of the water by miles like we used to.

Even taking into account the improvements around us, no team in the PL can get close to us when we play at our best.
Pep has also showed alot of complacency in recent games, hopefully they all wake up now.

Maybe this is as much a message to himself as anyone else. He's lost a strong voice next to him on the bench and maybe thats something the club needs to look at.

In hindsight we can now see how important the No 2 seat is in Peps coaching team.

Not knocking anyone btw, just maybe a stronger voice required.
I agree. I also think privately Pep is his own biggest critic at times. I think he's made some judgement calls this season with players and formations that haven't really come off. I would also suggest maybe there is the possibility that, similar to us fans, he recognises things aren't quite right but isn't totally sure what.

Just watched the big post match interview and pep was brilliant. Very passionate and so right. Saying the team not sticking up for Lewis. Saying 5-6 spurs players all round the ref backing each other. But no one backing Lewis. He happy with the way we play but sees no fight. In everyone. We can’t win league with this attitude and he is right. We can’t keep giving goals away and have to come from behind.he wants a reaction from everyone at the club including fans. Kick up backside for everyone including himself. Hopefully it will rallie everyone together

If Pep is bothered by the fans”Apathy”,maybe he should look at the Apathy” of the board. For years the media have thrown shit and lies about the OUR club, response from the board zilch, nada.and recently after the vile Liverpool transgressions where a young lady was injured, the board didn’t,t have the balls in their statement to mention it was Liverpool fans, the statement said fans. Then the Pigmol pantomime at the swamp last weekend.
I actually think thats exactly why Pep is addressing the whole organisation not just the players.

He's said many times we are too 'nice'.

He can't come out and slag off the clubs operations but this message is what he can do, and it was absolutely spot on.

We are all guily of the complacency he's alluding to.

The club is super professional, be in no doubt at all that there will be a big dicussion about this probably even happening as we speak. The club will not want any possibility of Pep thinking the club is not doing their bit. I expect that there will be some changes in how things are done.

I'd fully expect that there's already been a call between Khaldoon and the leadership group, and it will be along the lines of 'how do we support what Pep is doing' it absolutely will NOT be ignored or treated negatively.

This is fucking leadership.

Never have I booed a city team and I never will, supporters are there to support the team.
Don't you think some of the players deserve a bit of slack after our unparalleled success ?
Don't worry Pep will weed the slackers out, we support the team.
Pep is right, I'm in South stand level one, I went to the loo at half time and the amount of people laughing and joking was unreal, I couldn't believe it, we had just conceded 2 goals in 2 minutes and the league title a distant memory...as a home fanbase we need a kick up the arse, thousands sat in silence, pathetic...

You've never booed a City performance?

Personally, if I don't see the team putting it in or producing unforgiveable mistakes, I will vent my spleen.

Pep called the fans out as complacency in success. It's nothing of the sort. I didn't boo because we were losing, I booed because the effort wasn't good enough and the mistakes, comical.

And it appears Pep agreed and called the players out at half time.

Best bit about that and addressing something I think has been lacking for large periods of the time I’ve been watching City, the sentence about our players protecting Lewis. We are well due a team that sticks up for each other physically, that gets angry and acts when the opposition players are allowed to kick ours to fuck.

Micah needs a word in the ear after last night.

Actually I thought Spitty was very good in his comments. He's a twat no doubt but I sensed that he respected what had gone on there in the 2nd half and he also recognised the greatness of what was said afterwards.

Cnut that he is, Spitty has seen a lot in football.
Micah is a clown who laughs a lot. Brings no insight at all.
