Pep and Colin Bell

Colin Bell was my dad's favourite player. I am a blue because of my dad, he sadly passed away last year, taken by COVID imposed on heart disease. There were two occasions in my youth when I remember dad telling me I was about to see something special. The first was at the start of the 1974 world cup finals and that was Johan Cruyff. Holland have been my second team in international football ever since. The second was Colin Bell's comeback game against Newcastle, we all had season tickets by then, he was so excited to see him play again. I don't believe in life after death but it is comforting to think of all those blues that have been lost sat together raising a glass to Pep and the team.
Great post mate.

Cut down by a rag when in his prime..like Glyn, like Alfie...I somehow can not explain this..he was my absolute hero..Had every comic, badge, even cardboard cutout of Colin..we have had some great players recently but none will surpass this man..not only as a player but as a gentle, kind, Blue who dedicated his life to the club..thanks Pep for understanding what he means to City.

We toast Colin every year without fail - our son that is who was named after the King when born in 1970.
