I've seen some of the comments from Pep and it is pretty clear he is cheesed off with the reffing and lack of consistency/clarification from the officials. His comments about the players will make the next couple of games line ups be interesting. He wants switched on simple play from his team so when stupid mistakes are made it must wind him up chronic.

Wading in the Laporte situation it could be focus and simplicity that Pep is looking for from him. With him and Dias together we miss a calm head in there to come and play with the ball. Under a bit of pressure Dias has a clear it first mentality which will often concede possession and Laporte's short passing under pressure isn't the best and he will get caught in possession sometimes. Take Rodri out as well and you end up with the middle back three too far apart when we are being pressed and we lose control. The defending might look good and impressive with lots of sliding tackles and clearances happening but it throws off the rest of our game.

Stones with either of them is a better fit as he can come out of defence with the ball. This squeezes us and keeps us compact. Bizarrely for the positive impact Diaz has had on our mentality Rodri and Stones are our two most important defensive players for me

I think we look better and more fluid when KDB plays the false nine position it also frees up Gundo as he isn’t talking up the same space as Kev when he plays in midfield.
I wouldn't argue with that but I do think that Gabby is currently the better performer as KDB has not yet played himself into form: he's trying too hard and repeatedly giving away possession.

He's probably thinking that the Chumps is beyond his team in the knockout phases with the squad he has available to him.

- A GK that is useless at saving pens.
- A RB that has brain-dead moments creeping into his game.
- A RB that is more effective floating in MF.
- A CB that is now third choice and errors creeping into his game.
- One functioning LB without a reliable backup.
- A DM on his last legs.
- A RW who can blow hot or cold.
- A world class MF slowly being nursed into action.
- A world class striker slowly being nursed into action.
- An offside striker that is more effective on the left.
- A rookie as an emergency striker.
- A front man who's touch, goals and form has deserted him.

Other than that, its looking good for the PL title.

I think you will start to see the same first 11 barring injury from now on, we have around 19 games if we go all the way. If we can get that rhythm we had for that winning run back, then we could see something this country has never seen before a quadruple. Every player has to be on it, if they slack they are binned, but we need energy, that’s Foden, Bernardo and gundogan, starting every game for me from now. A settled back two with Stones and Dias with Rodri sting in front. If any other player has issues then tough shit.

Heard last night that there had been a bit of a dressing room fall-out with a player before the game, which might go some way to explaining his tetchy mood. Pretty sure the overall performance and scandalous refereeing didn’t help either though!
Interesting. I thought it was just his way of giving the team a push for the run in. The trick of don’t criticise them after the derby but the next game which we won.
