Chelsea played great,no argument, and they deserved the win.....but Pep picked the wrong team,he let them play their best game, and he nullified ours.
That is another loss that is down to him,and unfortunately he seems to save them for the big occasions.
Sorry, I simply don't agree. Gundogan has played DM successfully loads of times and Sterling at least troubled them. Might as well blame Bernie and Kevin for being pretty ineffective. We lost because our players from front to back didn't perform to their best level and Chelsea did.

Whilst I don't think Pep 'fucked up' I do believe that the tactics and shape applied by Tuchel is perfect for strangling us - certainly a huge factor in why our players didn't perform. We would have been beaten irrespective of what DM was in place. We didn't exactly look a different team when Fern came on and Gundo pushed forward.
The problem for Pep which will not go away is how does he change what we usually do to beat Chelsea.

We were 3 wins away from the quadruple, while our most productive players from previous seasons were either crocked (Aguero) or out of form (Sterling) or not at their best (Kevin and Jesus). Also, some players lost form in the final months (Rodri, Cancelo, maybe also Bernie and Gundogan.. ) due to the huge efforts from December to March. It's amazing we did so well while having key players unavailable or underperforming. It was a brutal season. Pep and the players exceeded the expectations by fighting in 4 competitions until the end. Back in December few on here expected that we will win the title and the league cup while fighting for the FA Cup and the CL. Have some perspective folks.
Everyone is hurting at the moment but in the cold light of day, people should rightly look back on the season as a stunning success. We have won the PL title, which should always be enough for any football fan, of any club. If you expect more than that, you will never be happy.

People were happy with our performances vs PSG because we won, and did forget we were poor in the first halfs of both games. Fernandinho's performance was in particular quite overrated on here. PSG were without Mbappe and still were the more dangerous team in that first half in Manchester. It could have easily ended 1:1 or even 1:2. If Ferna was doing what Pep wanted from his DM, he would have started in Porto. It's that simple. Truth is Ferna was abysmal vs Chelsea at Wembley, something people did conveniently forget. Mount was toying with him there. Rodri has lost form recently.

The criticism might be justified to an extent, but it is also OTT sometimes. We are lucky to have one of the greatest managers ever. No two ways about it. Ferguson managed to win only 2 CLs, both times with a lot of luck.
That's a good analysis.
My only point would be that despite Rodri/Fern's drop in form lately , don't replace a holding midfielder ( arguably both out of form) with a definitely more out of form attacking player.

If we all decided not to read this thread, we would not be able to benefit from your pearls of wisdom.
I read a few posts just to gather the general feeling and you epitomise the entitled fan, it was a show of support and a reality check in where we are compared to 10 years ago. I don't give a fuck what you think.

Well fucking said.

You seem like a nice guy.
You said you weren't going to read any posts but then you did.
Why didn't you say that instead of making your arrogant "im alright Jack" statement.
Good day to you too

Maybe Jesus would have been the better choice. He thrives on big European nights as he showed vs Madrid last season.

That said, I think Sterling played better than Mahrez and Foden. He was the only one who got behind their defence on 2-3 occasions. Those who thought we would sell him are wrong. He's English and 26yo. Mahrez was better than him in the last 3 months, but Sterling was better than Mahrez for 3 years before that and is 3 years younger as well. Txiki and Pep are not brain dead to want to get rid of Sterling ahead of Mahrez. Not a fucking chance.

Some fucking whoppers in this thread, we’ve been schooled by Chelsea in the previous two games , Pep tried to find a solution to this and it failed

But this Wasn’t the reason why we lost , we lost because our back four shit the bed in the first half and forgot how to defend a simple channel ball

not only that they were panicking when they did get the chance to clear it , often gifting possession back to start another counter attack

Basically a number of them froze on the biggest stage , it’s the first final for all of them , this can happen

this experience will make us better next time

He must have watched a different game to me if he thought we played well, especially 2nd half
