Decent performance and result yesterday but not sure what strange, no doubt stubborn little point pep was trying to make by keeping a clearly knackered de bruyne on the pitch for the full 90

Think he was trying to get a full 90 minutes in to those who have been struggling for fitness. Sure he'll have a rest midweek then 90 mins again next week.

But yeah, just another contradiction.

Pep needed to change, the last 12 months have been too much auto-pilot and too much of him being nice all the time. Clearly the shift in his tone towards the players publicly is getting the desired effect. Big big improvements all round. Next weekend is a big hurdle. If we can go there and win, then Pep will have us back on track!

Anything less than a win will suggest there's been no great improvement at all . Burnley and Fulham are 2 poor sides. He surely realises how they turned us over last season. Can't let it happen again.

Do you really only look at the result of a game?

If you can't see the team has been playing much better football over the past 4 games then I don't know what to say, it's night and day to what we saw before the last international break - and you can see Pep is much happier in his press conferences and interviews.

He looks at things to moan about as well as the result. The moaning is not as bad after a win but he always finds something. It's quite the gift.

I'm not appreciating Pep's performance with MC so far cause he didn't succeed to motivate his players and give them enough self confidence to be enough serene to make the good choices and make the last appropriate touch to score. I mean I noticed the same issue in MC vs Porto and MU vs PSG: a dominating team, producing a nice football and a good game volume but unable to score/win just because it missed to have the final good touch and grab the game momentum. It's like there is more excitement than it should be, more run, more nervs. It's so imperceptible within a general good performance that it's associated to luck. But it is not. It's just that players are feeling a psychological tension more than needed. At the opposite, there is the quite power, like the PSG, dominated but not panicking, needing just few occasions to score.
This generally reflects the psychological preparation of the players. And Pep is not in so far.

There has been some promising signs, yes. But you have to consider the opposition in those games. Yesterday I thought for a while we were going to put on a bit of a show but we reverted to the poor finishing that has haunted us for far too long now.

Maybe a seat in the stand on Wednesday, 90 mins. to improve match fitness Saturday and a week to plot the downfall of the Mino Raiola managed Reds. He could practice the Bruno kangaroo hop in the unlikely event we get a spot kick.

We did give a show until we scored the second, then we gave a show of what a non contact practice match is like, just play around till the final whistle then head off to rest. Even the commentator recognised that we could have gone up a gear if we wanted to.

Then sub him?

Would 20 or 25 minutes for Foden or Bernardo really have affected them playing a full game on Wednesday? Regardless - it's a dead rubber, take an extra academy player if you need? Needlessly risked Kev getting injured

Push him to get the 90 mins fitness rather. He can rest the CL game. Pep did the right thing to push the players

He’s getting a full rest midweek, like he did last week. Pep knows what he’s doing.

Oh just what we all want, more armchair fitness coaching.

We are one of the only teams in the country with all our players fit, you'd think people might pause and think "maybe they know what they're doing" rather than whining about it.

Surely the interesting part is about the movement of forward players? It highlights his role and also how we've been adapting in the time Aguero's been injured. For those struggling to see what Jesus is supposed to do here's the reveal.

Like when he started Aguero three times in a week and we haven't seen him since? Stop thinking everyone at the club is beyond criticism. Pep is a walking contradiction, 9 times out of 10 it's only ever using the words that he's said against the actions that he does that people criticize him for.

Stop thinking you know better than world class medical, fitness and management then, people on here have the right to their opinions, and sensible people would take the side of people who are highly trained in their profession rather than some baggage handling expert
