Who would have thought that not embedding Delap into this team last season in place of Gabriel, when we desperately needed a striker, would come back to bite us?

We have got a 27-year-old youngster who will never be good enough to lead the front line, another one who doesn't want to play as a striker, yet still we sold Ferran to Barcelona.

Pep is a world class manager but sometimes you need guys like Rummenigge to keep him in check. 100 million pounds on Grealish, 50 plus for Rodri rather than going for someone similar in the mould of Fernandinho, deliberately phased out pace from this team, which led to ultra reliance on midfielders and now they are burned out at a crucial stage of the season. Let's hope we won't bottle it.
dont agree with mich of that to be honest but you hit the nail on the head that hes phased pace out of the team. We are so fucking slow

Id love to hear why he decided we didnt need any changes when bernardo, grealish and foden were having no impact at all and bernardo was having his worst game of the season.

Why the obsession on blaming every dropped point on him?
Weird.
Grealish is being shoehorned by Pep and it costs the team not only because Grealish is still coming up to speed but it also means that the most potent attacker is sidelined to a position where he can help the team better.

As if that’s not enough, he still cannot shake up things when the urgency of the situation of the moment demands it urgently.

As if that’s not enough, you have players that can offer something different and instead of just try (at least one sub), you stuck to that plan that Palace has mastered as the game wore on. Pep master class! I bow to it’s irrefutability.

Biggest reason for that is Rodri. Because we cannot play open expansive game anymore because he is too slow to recover like we did when Fernandinho was in his prime. So we have to play controlling game which means pace is not needed in this style.

Wish wed revert back to the old style but unless we sign mobile DM is not possible.

It’s hard to imagine that the players themselves aren’t frustrated when he decides not to make a sub and try something new when it’s clear the system is stalled and the opposition has figured it out like today

Heard some clown on talk sport saying this and I realised this would be the reaction from the peanut gallery.

He didn’t change it because we were aboksitely hammering them and creating chance after chance. Subs disrupt things and they didn’t need changing.

The opposition didn’t “figure us out” FFS. They got outrageously lucky and that all.

Weird.
He had the power to change things but didn't. His failure to use the bench was probably the worst decision of the night. The team was screaming to be changed.

Pep deserves every negative comment tonight.

If Pep is asked about the issue of introducing 5 subs again anytime soon it would be refreshing if he just said no I’m against it as I never like to make many subs

No it wasn’t. We were hammering them. We didn’t need to disrupt the rhythm with subs. 4-0 wouldn’t have flattered us tonight. He was right to stick with the team.

First half yes. Second half nowhere near. We were ponderous and unconvincing.

The team wasn’t productive after the 76th minute and some players looked tired. A sub would’ve been perfectly adequate

If the team played well even if they are tired, he will never changes in fear like other said will distrupt the flow of the match and in last game we are still dominating just being an unlucky today.

The blame solely rest to the player especially Bernardo and Laporte who miss the sitter.
