Remember after the 1-1 draw with West Brom in 20/21 Pep said he didnt like the way we were playing and something had to change?

Well we've been playing far worse than that side since September, nothing has changed. Some of the players look disinterested, Foden is unrecognizable, Gundogan had an early chance againts Southampton and hit a pathetic shot wide. Fans are right to be concerned.

All the possession and we dont create clear cut chances. Whether we play 433, 352, 4213 or inverted full-backs it doesnt matter teams will always put 10 men behind the ball and try to catch City on the counter. We've won the league back to back why the sudden change in system, Integrating Haaland is not an excuse.

This possession based system seems better suited for UCL football, but even againts Dortmund we looked poor, bar the individual brilliance from Haaland. We only have one fullback that can play the inverted role well, Rico Lewis. Is he expected to play in the latter stages?

I think the EPL is our best chance at a trophy this season and that relies on Arsenal having a bad spell because we dont have the consistency to go 9-10 games unbeaten.

Maybe the players think we don’t need this with extra games! Now if we show up to a champs league game or Saturday game and put in a half hearted performance then we have bit of problem but there is so so many games left in the season am not overly concerned..
Concerned - no, pissed off - yes. Really bad showing last night. Travelling fans especially deserved a bit more.

The main concern I have over the last few months leading up to the World Cup and after it, is that we keep chopping and changing the centre backs.

A team’s solidity comes from consistency at the back. In possession City play a 2-3-5 formation, so when the ‘2’ are different every week, there’s no consisitency, no solidity.

Granted, Dias has been injured since the World Cup. But he’s still not played with Stones as a pair at centre back since 3rd September and they’ve only played together three times all season.

Akanji looks limited, yet Pep seems to have given him the responsibility as the main man as one of the ‘2’ now. He holds on to the ball far too long and is too indecisive, defensively, he can’t run and can’t jump.

We need to get Dias back fit and get this back:

I agree about the defence.

For some bizarre reason we seen to fuck about with it far more than any other team, and it doesnt seem to bring any advantage.

It stems from the horrific transfer window we had and Pep's unfathomable habit of making wholesale changes to a winning team. If only Joe Mercer was around to put him right.

Plus in Europe we’ve lost 3 times to Premier league sides and a very average Lyon side and on all those occasions he changed the side and style from what had served us so well in the league. Yes we lost to Madrid but more down to piss poor finishing, no right back and a crazy last 5 minutes in Madrid. So i don’t even buy the this is the style to win a cup comp in Europe excuse either.

Funny that against Chelsea we pressed batter than we have all season and battered them! Tonight like pep said Southampton we’re better in all departments there press closing down long balls down our left them winning every second ball we’re just not up to it! For me I want to win every game but that loss will benefit us in the long term! There is 21 league games left and champs league plus the fa cup!

Oh are we not allowed to have a bad game!?
I expect by lunchtime (probably happened already), we'll all be labeled spoiled, expectant brats and to look where we've come from.
Oh - if only it was one bad game. If you think it's just a blip I'm happy for you and I hope you're proved right.
