I'm still not ready to believe that the issues are anything more than a natural decline after two successful seasons. We were stretched to breaking point last season with injuries. Having epic fights with Atletico, Real and having to win every game in the league.
This season Pep has shuffled the pack substantially to keep them fit, the WC was clearly a consideration and now that's done he's still trying to get things to gel. Couple that with signing a number 9 and adapting to that transformation, it's no wonder things aren't quite clicking.
The game at the weekend showed positive signs. We kept the ball well, it was just the final pass and clinical side that remained lacking. But at 1-0 we had that under control until an abysmal decision.
Hopefully we see that galvanise the squad and a win against Spurs on Thursday. Beat Wolves on Sunday too and we'll be 2pts off top before Arsenal play the rags. An Arsenal lost puts us right back in it again considering we've got to play them twice. They'll have a game in hand too of course.
We just need to beat Arsenal, which means they can look to sit back and counter us. We're not halfway through the season yet, no need to panic just yet. If this is a crisis and we're 2nd after back-to-back titles then fucking hell, good luck when we're in a real one!
