Put out arguably our best side today, although you could argue over Akanji and Dias, and a few of the players never showed up. On them for me.
He should have sent a message out at half time and made 2/3 subs we were that shit. I just can’t understand what game he was watching today. Most of the last 15 mins he was sat on the bench.

The only problem with the message would be the duration to the next game.

We were not at our best but you still thought something would drop for us. Pep could have brought Alvarez on earlier but offensively Bernie was the best player, Gundogan is the master of the late run into the box and KDB and Haaland are our greatest goal threats. It might not have worked but their was logic why those players remained on the field imo. The other options were Grealish and Mahrez and, Weds apart for Grealish, have not played well or looked a decent goal threat.

ThInk the biggest mistake that has been made was to let Jesus leave.
Yes Jesus wanted out but that was because he was not getting enough time, Pep was splitting time between him and Sterling, Grealish, Mahrez - all clearly much below the level Jesus is and so can understand him wanting out. If Pep had given him more time he would have remained.

I agree, Jesus should have played more. Much better player than Sterling and much more productive than Grealish. Given that Mahrez is 31 and Jesus 25, it was a fuck up on our part to not do enough to keep him. But Alvarez may become as good as Jesus or better. So there's that too.

We aren’t scousers and we aren’t a cult
He is human and fallible. And if you’re honest you know he had a shocker today.
Few and far between thankfully and I wouldn’t swap him for anybody. But enough with the cult of Pep nonsense
He had a bad bad day. He normally gets a tune out of them after a half time bollocking, but if anything we were even worse as the game went on.
It happens to us all. Bad day at the office. No shame in admitting it
Like Palace at home last season, this bunch have that yellow streak game in them every year.
No excuse whatsoever for waiting til 85m for a sub though
He fucks up quite a lot in big games to be honest. Could half see why he didn’t make changes today as he had most his best players on, we were lacking width and most the options off the bench would only have made us more narrow.

He needs a break that’s all. The rotation policy at the back has gone mental. No settled defence this season has seen us look lost. The buildup from the back is not fluid and the defending is at best just about ok.

Injury to Walker did not help. We seem to be back to full back problems. Which is hampering the team cohesion. I thought we would have enough to cover but seemingly not. Ake should be Lb and Cancelo rb. Putting stones in at RB is a disaster. I would prefer us to go 3 at the back with wing backs who can focus on attack and give us width until we can recruit. Teams are strangling the live out of our width forcing us to come inside. We have no playmaker to open them up. We looked most dangerous this year playing quick ball into Haaland otherwise we struggle.

Change it Pep. We have the The CB to make a very good 3. Put Walker and Cancelo up wide or Gomez/Rico until Walker is back.

Hes turned games around at half time this season. Today he sat on his hands coz of phils blinder just before. Overall we're not that fun to watch. Thats on him.

Surprised by the line-up - Akanji never looked the right pick. And how many more times are we going to see that three of Rodri, Gundo and De Bruyne misfire?
Generally don‘t have much of a problem with the lack of subs, given how much work goes into our planning. But when you‘re playing as shite as that, it must be worth throwing at least Grealish on, maybe Mahrez. Or even Palmer.
Fucking love him, but thought he had a bit of a shocker today.

Maybe the rumours of new contract is just that rumours, and pep is off end of season some of these performances give it that sort of feeling..
You could be right. The players downed tools today, you got to think it’s because of the World Cup. Nobody moving into space for throw ins, and all over the field. No desire at all, and baffling tactics and lack of substitutions.

Fucking hell some of the posts on this thread, what a load of bollocks. The players didn’t perform pure and simple.

only last week peps tactical tweaks won us a game with 10 men. The players clearly weren’t at it today and It’s hardly surprising given the World Cup is a career high for most players
If only they had told the fans beforehand they weren’t going to turn up. I never want to hear any criticise of the fans again from players or Pep.
