You are suggesting it in your " it's a matter of identity ......

What does that mean ?

If you mean that Pep won't adopt a more defensive approach until the issues are resolved, I don't agree.

Pep is pragmatic and open to doing plenty of things before and during games, so are you saying the opposite ?

His use of substitutes is a niggle however, especially the timing of them sometimes.

I’m trying to say that Pep will not relent on his principles and change his style of play as he sees it as his and the clubs identity.

We want to dominate games and he’s going to try and do that until we have the squad to actually do it.

I don't believe he will stubbornly persist with a plan or formation which is not working. He's changed formations and plans on a number of occasions.

Atm I do not understand his substitution approach /timing or why McAtee not getting a look in. And he is maybe protecting the young players for fear of damaging their confidence .

I believe the real issue is that we clearly do not know the full extent of player fitness/ ability to play with niggles etc. but they cannot be in a great state based upon the performances witnessed and line-ups used.

Player form/confidence isn't factored either as Gundogan looks way off, Gvardiol is making so many unexepected mistakes, Akanji clearly not fit, and Dias apart, the defence is as jumpy as kittens.

The two games per week in the current situation, is adding more pressure on both Pep and the players.

I’m not going to pick apart his team sheets because all he’s been able to do is field the only fit 11 players every game. MacAtee should have been given a game ahead of Gundo when he was playing more advanced alongside Kovacic but right now there’s no way I’d start him. He’d be our weakest winger and he isn’t getting in ahead of Kev, Grealish, Foden and Bernardo through the middle.

I agree on the fitness and niggles issue, it isn’t just the players that are out injured, it’s the ones that are fit one game, not the next. We have so many that can’t play twice in a week.

In terms of style of play, what do you expect us to do, sit back and absorb pressure? We haven’t got the players to do it. We haven’t got any tacklers in midfield. If we don’t keep the ball we only lose by more.

I don’t think we can blame very much on Pep to be honest.
