The game constantly changes and evolves, we are seeing with Chelsea and to an extent Arsenal, fast, young, energetic highly talented players that are making are players look so old and slow.

I am not saying Pep is finished but I do believe the others have caught up with his game and have nullified it.

Time to reinvent Pep and City's game, to evolve into a pacey, young energetic side and to stop relying on a ridiculously small squad.
Spot on, mate.

Personally, I’d settle for top 4 and no trophies this year if we can see this starting to happen. There’s no shame in taking a year out from winning stuff as long as we prevent any more rot.

I’d be happier if we took a complete break before next season to review, recharge and refresh. Unfortunately, the lure of £50m from the contrived World Club Cup competition has proved too much for the club. Surely to fcuk, a surfeit of games is part of our current problem?

I don't believe he will stubbornly persist with a plan or formation which is not working. He's changed formations and plans on a number of occasions.

Atm I do not understand his substitution approach /timing or why McAtee not getting a look in. And he is maybe protecting the young players for fear of damaging their confidence .

I believe the real issue is that we clearly do not know the full extent of player fitness/ ability to play with niggles etc. but they cannot be in a great state based upon the performances witnessed and line-ups used.

Player form/confidence isn't factored either as Gundogan looks way off, Gvardiol is making so many unexepected mistakes, Akanji clearly not fit, and Dias apart, the defence is as jumpy as kittens.

The two games per week in the current situation, is adding more pressure on both Pep and the players.
Told you, straight from the horses mouth:

“Our game will save us. We can do it. We conceded few chances compared to the Nottingham Forest game that we won. We're making the right tempo.”

"But I love my team. This is life, it happens. Sometimes you have a bad period but I'm going to insist until we're there."

Agreed but that club WC could also save us in terms of finances with the inevitable missing out on the CL.

I don't expect a title every season, we don't have a right to win anything but the drop off has been far too great, in fact it could get out of hand unless we move quickly in January.

Morning doom mongers.

Pep going nowhere.

Buckle up and ride out the storm.

Comparing us to anyone else after recent success is stupid.

New managers are not better than the old ones. He hasn’t been sussed out. All that has happened is we have had a horrendous injury list and aging players are not being able to perform to the high level. The other players have not stepped up either which all comes down to recruitment.

Pep is a football genius.

Or, maybe Peo WAS a football genius and it has taken the coaching disciples a decade to learn his methods, mark out their training grounds with his rectangles, and learn his systems…all while developing their own bigger, stronger, faster players to both blunt his plans and exploit his way of playing?"

Under Mancini and Pellegrini, 2 top players for every position.

I don’t think because we’re having one off season his methods suddenly aren’t as effective.

There’s more than one way to skin a cat, but do you really want to resort to Stoke City ball like Arsenal? Peps methods still work, the players just aren’t good or fit enough anymore.

The areas we lack pace and legs are midfield and fullback, fix that and we’re back.

Much of our football last season was poor, slow, predictable and dare I say boring.

He looked to me to want to change that this year with Doku, Bobb and Savinhio around, sadly form and injuries have meant we have not seen that, but our MF and defence is shockingly slow and not athletic.

And that’s all on Tixi who’s seems to be getting away scott free here, he’s left us in the shit Penny pinching

We all would but we have to see change with he squad and bringing younger players because the likes of gundo and walker etc is not working and pep needs to see this but his ego is too big for that .
