If not city’s academy kid, nobody would give Lewis a second look in the transfer market but hey, being academy kid itself is like adding a 50M value when comparing preference in EPL. The discussion is not performance based at all. And most of time fans just use academy kids as a weapon to diss Pep. You don’t have EPL starter level academy kids growing out in a batch. You’d be lucky to have a good one every 5 year. And Pep never doubted Foden and developed his time steadily. And then Bobb and Lewis. But people still crying why McAtee and O’Railly doesn’t get time. And nobody mention Pusey anymore and Lewis becomes a war criminal. It is not helping the kids with the empty trust and quick give-up.

We look great with high fullbacks keeping the width allowing wingers to play more central. Ironically it gives us more bodies in the middle.

It should help players like Savinho and Doku too who were always alone against 2. hopefully Pep keeps this up and doesn’t go back to this inverted FB thing that stopped working long ago.

He played fine. He made 1 awful mistake and then played fine. It was nothing to do with not being ready. It's not like heading a ball is different in England.

Players make mistakes. Hugo Lloris made an absolute all timer in a World Cup final and still carried on with his life.

He is Asian, and even on this forum sadly there were posts (luckily banned) racist towards Asians. For the sake of my point, let's say xenophobia. It doesn't matter, discrimination is discrimination. Let's just focus on his football, not anything else.
 
He's a very very lucky man

Obviously have to give him some.props but that starting XI is indefensible I don't think we should praise him too much playing Savinho who pretty much everyone thought should be starting

Sick of him lining up with 4 old and slow midfielders

Again very lucky, hopefully now we can register Marmoush (and other signigns), and get back players from injuries we can get top 4 this season
 
I never want to see that starting midfield ever again. It made no sense.

Bernardo had his best game of the season at the weekend…moves him to RW. He’s got no pace, no right foot, doesn’t create or score goals. Be better off with Ederson out there.

Foden has been scoring for fun in the middle…moves him to LW.

Does this to accommodate a geriatric Gundo, who has had 1 good game (against a shit Ipswich) all season.

Theres no way this current side can have KDB and Gundo in the middle. I have no idea why Pep can’t see this.

Pep got very lucky in the end. That game could easily have gotten away from us.
