He needs fit players , no fucker could deal with this crises any better and add to that the team who pushed us over the line last year are mentally shot and their bodies are letting them down , add the young player like rico and sav and i include thor as he is still young and this is the perfect storm

The charges must be weighing heavy on everyone to differet degrees as well

It is a nightmare but pep said he wouldnt leave us in a mess so i am with him as long as it takes

Sorry I'm not having that. He's pep, but that doesn't mean he hasn't completely fucked up this season (for the record I don't want him gone and I'm pretty balanced about our current situation, but pep is as much to blame as the players). Someone else would absolutely have dealt with it differently despite being an inferior manager.

-insists on continuing with a suicidal high line when we don't currently have the players to play it.

-Bangs on all preseason about how he has cover for rodri - only trusts kovacic (injury prone) and gundo (OAP) there.

-Because of his reluctance to play any academy players, it means he's run the squad into the ground. If he played mcatee instead of Bernardo, or O'Reily instead of gundo, and especially simpson-pusey we might have been spared a couple of injuries. When asked he insists he trusts them and they're options, which clearly they aren't so he needs to drop his small squad bollocks.

-No change in formation, playing walker, gundo, and Bernardo near every game whilst they continue to put in horrific performances - I know he's trying to turn it around because cause he's pep, but it doesn't fucking look like it on the face of it.

-uses on average 2 subs a game and again, it's the same players rotating in and out. I am just not having that mcatee, oreily, Pussey, and Wright couldn't have put in a shift at least on par with the current performance of the SR players. Going back to my point about running the entire squad into the ground because he only trusts about 14 players whilst insisting on a small squad.

I think he absolutely has mismanaged the injury crisis and it was partly of his own making. Rodri was 100% rushed back because even though he sort of trusts kovacic there, he doesn't really and ran him into the ground last season - no surprise he got injured. We said it for years about klopp running his teams into the ground so we shouldn't bury our heads in the sand as pep continues to play the same 13 fucking players week in week out

But he could have done plenty differently. He better than anyone knows the mental and physical fatigue the amount of football we’ve played would have caused the players to suffer, yet he still chose to let players go and not replace them and to continue with a small squad of aging players.

He could give some of the younger lads a run out to spare the legs of tired, underperforming senior players.

He could make many, many tactical changes but he won’t.

I think most other managers would have done all of the above, don’t you?

I’m not Pep out either, he’s been the best manager our club has ever had, but he has to take his share of the blame here.

@mdj0520 put it miles better than I did.

I thought we were a lot better.
We were better and should have scored the penalty, think missing it drained confidence a bit, apart from that Everton defended very well, same as they stopped arsenal and Chelsea scoring. Though think it will take a couple of signings for a significant improvement though.

I thought we were a lot better.
I think a lot is overdoing it a bit. The first half was good but once we missed the pen, heads once again dropped a bit, energy levels were poor at times and overall, there were still some very poor moments in the match.

Our passing has turned to shit for one. So many loose passes again today particularly from the defence and midfield.

The other is that we are not challenging for loose balls hard enough (Doku on first goal for example) and are allowing crosses and shots to come in too easily by not closing down quickly enough. Happened 3/4 times today again.

It was an improvement on the dire second half against the rags and awful second half against Villa but it’s still nowhere near where we need to be to get ourselves into a top 4 position,

Agree with everything except the Rodri injury, I think he gave him enough rest after the Euros, you can't expect an ACL injury, the stupid part was of course not signing a backup DM knowing full well how much we strugged without him when he got suspended last season, and with the CL expanded and the Club world cup in the summer it was sheer arrogance to rely on Rodri alone for another season, same thing with having Haaland as the only striker, total arrogance.

We did have back up, the same back up we used for the first few games, and it went okay. What we didn’t have is somebody that could play the whole season there. Mainly because anyone good enough to do that wouldn't have signed. They may or they may not now.

I thought the same thing at first and believed Kova could be the backup though I still had major doubts but it's obvious now that he's not, he may have the good game here and there but he can't do the job consistently, he's simply not a 6, like I said knowing how long this season was going to be the club should've been proactive and brought in a true DM because there was no guarantee that Kova could've done the job, obviously no one was going to better than Rodri or even close but we just needed someone who could be consistent and reliable.
