Worrying that we just keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. If we were changing personnel it might help but we can’t we simply don’t have enough quality in the squad. Why he doesn’t give Wright Oreilly or McAtee at least a chance is baffling.
At this point it's become clear they will be selling McAtee in January so they won't risk him getting injured. Not what I was hoping for. Just what I believe...

You didn't make an argument. You just said something with a bit of conviction.

And I'm sorry if it offends you but I will address the person when their relationship with my club is almost entirely superficial.

You aren't a part of this culture and should probably keep that in mind before you suggest how it should be reshaped.
I'm a football fan first and foremost, and you are vastly overestimating cultural differences between clubs at the highest level. They all operate under purely rational business decisions, because sentimentality often means failure.

Sweet. Let me know when the club hires you to give Pep the bad news.

In defence of @Belgian Flash, he may be a Madrid fan but he’s not posting covertly and hasn’t been at all disrespectful. On the contrary, I generally find his posts quite thoughtful and interesting. That’s more than the knee jerkers you see on some forums taking out their frustrations. Not that we have any on here, you understand. Oh no.

That has zero relevance. You should address the argument, not the person.

Pep is too stubborn in his ways and these players seems pretty frustrated with what they are instructed to do on the pitch. The team atmosphere is clearly bad. The tactics are not working. The team is barely creating chances, and the pressing game is bad. And accountability should play a role. Winning titles doesn't excuse having a team this expensive and performing this badly for so long. With great power come great responsibilities.

As someone said, there are two options, either overhaul the squad with 6-7 new players, or hire a coach that would work better with the current group. The latter is much less expensive and buys you time to implement a new vision.
The latter isn’t an option because at least 4 players are at the. end of their time here. So option one it is and thankfully the one the club will take. The dest of the post was nonsense in your head not reality.

The problem is this would have to wait until the end of the season and the way things are going, City will not qualify for Europe which might make it difficult to make the quality signings that are needed. It seems to me that someone more short term is needed to turn the tide.

Another issue is that the players who are not at the end of their time here (Haaland, Doku, Gvardiol etc) are not being maximized under Pep's style. So to me it looks like a good moment to start a new cycle, where a new manager is given half a season as low pressure adaptation period, short term reenergizing the team with fresh atmosphere, get the most out of the current group, reach the CL, then get players in the summer that would complement the current ones in his vision. And I honestly believe that these players need a more quick transition kind of coach.

I understand City fans are very attached to Pep because of the success he's brought but its always better to leave before you become a villain. And knowing how Pep is notorious for his burnouts and needing time away to get his mojo back and then find a new challenge, I simply think its better to be proactive than reactive.

the worst is the reaction form the squad was not really there at the news of his renewal. certainly not on the pitch.
our success is built a lot on the togetherness of the squad, the mood in the dressing room, it feels like bit of that is lost as well with mystery injuries, some staff leaving unexplained, even Walkers captaincy bit of a strange thing given how much he fell even in leadership let alone is his private life. did anyone else wanted to step up ad become the captain?

But he could have done plenty differently. He better than anyone knows the mental and physical fatigue the amount of football we’ve played would have caused the players to suffer, yet he still chose to let players go and not replace them and to continue with a small squad of aging players.

He could give some of the younger lads a run out to spare the legs of tired, underperforming senior players.

He could make many, many tactical changes but he won’t.

I think most other managers would have done all of the above, don’t you?

I’m not Pep out either, he’s been the best manager our club has ever had, but he has to take his share of the blame here.

@mdj0520 put it miles better than I did.
Not having the clamour for the eds to be flung in , we have a few new young players and they are a bit lost at the senior players not being able to nuture them, teenagers are not going to save us or have us winning games , ffs
