Wouldn't say Henry and Eto'o were academy players. More importantly, the context is different. Pep didn't lose Xavi or Messi due to a long-term injury. Also, even that Barca team couldn't win 4 league titles in a row. The more trophies you win, the more difficult it is to continue to win trophies. To win 5 in a row in England or the CL without a fundamental player like Rodri after having won so many trophies in recent years would be some achievement.

...and yet we are top. Does this mean the other contenders are as shite? Ok so we aren't blowing teams away like previous seasons, but our mentality still looks very positive (going 0-1 down but recovery good). If we can get the sick notes back asap, this league is still ours for the taking.

True

Also, some people act like we blew teams away every week before. There's always been a fair share of games where we had to grind it out or nick a win. Its top level footy.

Hasn’t got a clue how to fix this unfortunately, just playing the same midfield in the hope that one of them finds form.
 
i expected him to change things substancially in terms of tactics/strategy after last international break, he didnt and we are paying for that
 
We have been good at papering over his cracks this season but couldn't get it over the line at the end. Might be a good thing, because he has set us up terribly this season and he needs to change something

All the hallmarks of his third season at Barcelona.

We will still be there or thereabouts in all the remaining competitions but with a tactically tired team and ageing squad I think we are seeing the beginning of the end of the Pep era.

I think he leaves in the summer and hands the rebuild over to a new coach with the new DOF.
 
Surprise, people who never post here when we win are posting now telling us how the best manager of all time can't fix this.

Sure, playing O'Reilly and McAtee is the solution you geniuses. Nothing about having 8 key players injured and having an aging midfield.

Despite of that, we are 2 points from the top and in the first 8 in UCL.
 
Mad how long he waited to make a change. Cost us the game really.
Struggling without Rodri carrying his gameplan. Needs to adapt/change how we are playing. Current set-up is not working, and we are struggling vs. EVERYONE
