Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

He has about 4 world class players.

One of them has lost all energy
Ones disappearing in and out the team for unknown reasons
The others doesnt seem interested atall
And Dias is the only one with an ounce of credit out of this shit period.

The rest are shite/too old.
All I see is an excuse for a manager who's suffering the first bit of adversity I this career and has no idea what to do but panick and spread the panick into the players

Pep has to take a lot of the responsibility for this. He is a genius but that makes this current shit show even worse. He has presided over this transition into a slow, ponderous, negative and quite frankly…boring side. Even when we were top earlier in the season, the quality of football was still absolute garbage. I refuse to believe that given his past, he enjoys watching us play like this?

I’ve been patient with Pep. And will be for the length of his time here.

But that today is inexcusable. Did we have a shot on target apart from the goal? Did we have a shot at all in the second half?

Consolidation football built on a weak defence. Absolutely criminal tactics.
Our tactic doesn’t work anymore and he keeps pushing it.

4 attacking players behind Erling can’t create a chance for him.

He needs to change it.

The day that you are at the top of your profession or do anything of external recognition, maybe yoy will understand that geniuses have resources, precisely because they are geniuses. It's not luck, but maybe that concept is foreign to you.

Insinuating that having created two top 5 teams of all time is just because of not having adversity. Laughable

I remember people saying earlier in the season that the players needed clarity about Pep's future, and as soon as he signed a new contract, things would improve.

So that went well.

Having said that, anyone talking about getting rid, have a word with yourself.

How many players in our squad are world class currently? World class means top 5 in their position. I can count 3 arguably 2. He's just not got the quality anymore in his squad. How many players in our squad would get into Madrid's squad currently? 2. Give Pep that Madrid squad and he wins it all. Not this squad of players that couldn't care less anymore.
We talking bout form, because of course none are

Haaland, Foden, KDB, Bernardo, Rodri, Dias are world class and a LOT of the squad are elite

This team is weaker, but it's not 1 win in 11 including losing to a shit United and getting battered multiple times

He's the one who plays Gundogan every game, he's the one who wants us to be risk adverse and then gets is into trouble by overplaying, he has a part in the squad building and he clearly was happy enough

Stop making excuses for him not making any changes to a team who's style has been figured out

Wait, you think we should sack him? Lol
Yeah you should. He doesn't get excused because of the titles, as they are negated by the amount of money and responsibility to win he has at all times. He doesn't seem to be coming up with anything in either selection, motivation or tactics to turn the ship around. At some point any change becomes an improvement.

Yep, the number of times he's found a solution to our poor recruitment has been remarkable, and maybe we should stop expecting him to do it every time. Winning the league with Delph at left back. Winning titles with no striker. Dealing with season-ending injuries to key players season after season. I honestly think the club has, one too many times, used it as an excuse to not get someone in because the first choice wasn't available for the right price.

That's the worst bit; i think we would all accept being dodgy at the back if it meant we were creating loads at the other end but we don't.

We create nothing and concede for fun.

Our attitude to the transfer market for the past couple of years has been appalling. Whether that's Pep, Txiki, a combination of both, who knows, but this situation has been coming and has finally caught up on us.

Not selling clearly over the hill players that have flirted with an exit, signing squad fodder in a panic after cheaping out on first choice targets, all while letting some huge home ground talents leave that would have filled key positions where we have gaping holes, because they backed themselves to play. The latter would be more forgivable if we actually reinvested it properly, instead of lauding our net spend in the media.

I'm at the point where all I can do is just laugh. Could see this result coming from a mile off today as we approached the 80th minute.

Pep deserves the time to fix this, but with each game I am losing patience after watching the same thing play out time and time again. Continuing to play struggling, unfit players is just insanity. Spent the whole pre-season bigging up McAtee and O'Reilly, only for them to drop off the face of the earth when we have an injury crisis and desperately need fresh legs.

Shit or get off the pot time for Pep and the board. Go into the January transfer market and just get it done - DM, RB and forward - no quibbles or faffing.

I don't want to see any puff pieces celebrating selling McAtee for £20m and how our academy makes so much money, whilst we fuck about trying to haggle £10m off Newcastle's asking price for Bruno.

Agree to disagree mate, I will never put the players making mistakes down to the manager. Especially when he is setting us up correctly and it was working.
And setting us up correctly would've been setting us up to score goals not get a 1-0 when everyone knows we can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives and can collapse at any moment, and that's another one on the manager, every single time we concede we collapse, poor mentality and the manager has to take the blame here too.

I think we’re at the point where everybody needs to know they could be part of the 6/7 that leave in the summer. I said that and I was laughed at on here! NO IDEA IS OFF THE TABLE AT THIS POINT.

6/7??

Try 12-13.

Remember Rags went through this and they shipped their golden boy Beckham off to make a statement they will not accept standards dropping.

Sadly it's on us now to not look fondly at old times but at the present.
