Scraping third on the last game of the season, a week after losing a cup final to a team that finished 12th is your evidence he isn't past it? Haha fucking hell, when is our parade for top in 25?
How could we have scraped third on the last game of the season when we won and a draw would have sufficed? ‘Scraped’ means you barely did enough, not more than enough.

Liverpool came 3rd last year. Didn't add to the team much but changed the manager and low and behold.

This year we came 3rd and it seems we're going to throw upwards of 200million on improving the squad having already spent nearly 200 million in January.

Lacking all context though.

The average age of Liverpool's starting XI was good ours isn't. Now as they're a year older, they're about to drop £126m on 1 player.

Not really, because Arsenal never win anything but City and Pep collect trophies for fun.

I'm sorry you can't understand why improving massively in the second half of the season after integrating quality young players is a good thing.

If it means that much to you then okay you can wear the head clapper badge for the whole summer:-)

BTW I said your comment was very Arsenal like not that we were like Arsenal as a club.

As you were

The upcoming CWC is not your typical glorified pre season tournament anymore fyi.

We might see Pep and club management actually treats the tournament as legitimate competition.
Of course we will.

This is going to be massive in decades to come. I’d rather watch a Club World Cup than an international tournament. It’s already got huge money behind it, I can see it being up with the CL in prestige in the future, so to be the first winners of it could be very special.

Around £94m for the winners of this is something to take very seriously.

We pretty much romped to third, in losing just 2 of our last 14 PL games, unbeaten in our last 10.

The Cup final was just one of those games that highlighted we need more creativity in midfield and showed how much we’ve missed Rodri Foden and Bobb. Kovačić was also injured for the final.

To have the most points in 2025, having played a game less than Liverpool and Arsenal, when we’ve had the injury record below, should be commended.

Rodri has missed 36 PL games
Bobb 36
Aké 29
Stones 29
Grealish 18
Foden 14
Ederson 13
Akanji 12
Dias 11
DeBruyne 10
Doku 9
Haaland 7
And our captain, Walker, fucked off midseason and missed 23 games.

Pep has made us more solid in the second half of the season and got the most out of squad players and us having to rely a lot on older players, younger players and players out of form.

At times we had Ederson Walker Stones Aké Akanji Dias Rodri Foden and De Bruyne out or playing with injuries, illness, just coming back from injury or just being out of form at the same time.

A campaign to forget but a campaign that has showed good character to come through the worst run of results we’ve had for decades.
Had all that going on within the team whilst going through a divorce. Didn’t shit his pants and run away he signed an extension to put it right. He’s steadied what was a sinking ship pre Christmas and no doubt will be planning to show everyone why he's the best next season. Give him lifetime contract

I really missed something with this Bobb hype. I see his name everywhere no matter who we buy apparently he is as good if not better than everyone.

Liverpool's squad age is as bad as ours, it's 5th worst in the league. Ours is 6th.

They got incredibly lucky they had no injuries to Salah or Van Dijk because had Salah got the same injury Rodri got, not a chance they win the league.

Liverpool's average age starting XI: 27.2
Average squad age: 26.8

City starting XI: 26.7
Average squad age: 26.8

The reason why it's funny when Arsenal say things like that is because they never actually win anything.

When people point it out about City it's because they're well-positioned to win the league next season.

That's why your point was stupid.

Yes that is what I was saying, they're getting to where we were at the start of the season, they need to spend, we're just doing it a year late.

Yet again I was talking about your comment

this a season he needs to come back from.

very poor in the league, worst points tally ever for him in a top league since he started at Barca, he did 78 points in his debut season with no PL experience and squad not exactly ready for him yet.

in CL he delivered his worst ever season, this is a big hit to his ego, before City he was in CL semis every single season at least with Barca and Bayern and got us to that level in last few years with semis and finals but not even getting into last 16 is a first for him. he only ever lost one KO tie in CL in last 16 before once all his career vs Monaco...

this all topped by his divorce on a personal level.

FA cup final loss, another bitter pill.

even his backroom staff is now gone and his big friend Txiki is gone soon and his main creator who has been here all along KDB.

Have a feeling he was going to leave as well end of this season but for whatever reason he changed course and he gives it one more go.

I am sure he would love to come back from this and win another PL and especially CL. I really hope it happens otherwise its a bit of a bleak last two years (next two, assuming he hangs up his time at City in summer 2027) for him if he doesnt while we watch dippers and Arse celebrate instead of us...

he needs a tactical reset almost reborn, and for that all the help is needed from backroom staff, board level, Viana, playing squad etc.

like the players he would need a big rest, good long holiday and come back early July put in a serious fitness training that allows us to start heavy pressing, but this CWC is just brutal shit schedule and allows little rest and preparation for new season is effected in a strange way while allows good schedule for likes of dippers, Arse. money rolling in is great from CWC, but we could be off the pace big time if we are busy with CWC until the end and then players get their long holiday and come back not in top shape when PL already kicking off mind August. there was a reason we asked for at least 1st game postponed as we know the timeline will be very bad for us.
PL would have been ok with it if its Arse and dippers lol.

despite that Pep will have to be creative and whatever the new playing system, style it needs to be practiced as early as the Wydad game. dont want to see the same style, slow attacks, Doku doing tricks then hits first defender, Haaland lost between mediocre defenders, concede from first shot of opponent etc. this will need to change.

how we prepare this summer in trainings and in the transfer market will have a huge factor how next season will go.
we need to be younger, more energetic, quicker, press more. hope this is the plan. January window points to this direction even tho they not exactly have been bedded in apart from Marmoush much.

Definitely consistent use of subs and more rotating. Can see us struggling in the first 2 games next season due to not having enough time to get 100% fit

Think people moved too quickly from the way we lost the Fa Cup this season. Watching Chelsea win comfortably has reignited my annoyance with Pep and the players this season. Throwing away 2 finals back2back is inexcusable. We need a serious rebuild. Few players deserve to stay. Even less are on good form. Serious changes need to happen.
