Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

There will be a fair number of our supporters (certainly not Me as i've said above, his views align with Mine 99% of the time) that will be annoyed with Who He has and hasn't chosen to represent in his political bit of the presser, its dangerous territory and He knows that, that's why I don't agree with politics in sport, is he going to condemn Trump and tell players not to go to the World Cup?

If you’re upset about Pep talking about children and innocent people being killed worldwide because he didn’t mention every single instance of it then you’re just looking for reasons to be upset.

I think the comment has been removed now but someone was complaining he didn’t bring up the arena bombing. Pep spoke about the arena bombings at length when it happened. His own daughter and wife were there FFS.

He dedicated his first PL title to the people that lost their lives that day.

So if you’re upset because he didn’t mention it 9 years later or you’re running through a list of global tragedies trying to find ones he didn’t mention explicitly than you’re just desperately looking for reasons to be offended.

Or maybe people are just commenting on the bits they don't think relevant to his actual job? You know as fans of the Club We are ALL invested in.

He did condemn Trump. He spoke about ICE killing people but he didn't tell players not to go to the World Cup.

The man continues to represent the club in a way which can only be applauded. A remarkable man away from football as well as being a remarkable football manager.
Correct, won't stop the neanderthals whining that he should keep quiet because we've had a few shit results.
The man should be absolutely admired and respected for his views and willingness to stand up for causes that need standing up for.
We know exactly the type who will give him grief though.

James dickhead from the MEN did his level best to get Rodri banned in the last few minutes of that presser. Rag twat.
Pep shut him down nicely, cheeky **** trying to start an argument after pep had extended the presser to take his question.
Also that's a new one on me that it's in the rules you can kick through a players foot, wish I had known that when I was younger, I would have 100 caps by now

Absolutely not upset or offended about it, i'm not looking to be offended either, it's great that He has the platform to get His message out, i'd actually do the same which is very hypocritical of Me but i'm not in his position, I still don't think He should be doing it, football press conferences should be about football matters only.

What he is good at though is getting people on board, Pep says something so its true, Pep says the opposite its true etc. You only have to look and see who will 'like' anything remotely positive towards Him even if it's not right, it's almost a bit cultish. If He wants to use the platform in that way it's up to Him, He has that power.

He did condemn Trump. He spoke about ICE killing people but he didn't tell players not to go to the World Cup.

That isn't condeming Trump.

Anyway i'm done with the politics, hopefully he is doing his job out there telling the lads to not play too high up the pitch tonight...

Unbelievable press conference.

As bad as some of the football has been this season, he's still a wonderful man.

What an incredible person. He makes me want to run through walls for him. Hopefully it's the same for the players.

Hearing Pep Guardiola speak today genuinely hit me. Not because he’s one of the best football managers ever - but because he spoke from the heart. He talked about the lost children of Palestine/Ukraine, and about the nurse who was killed by ICE, with real emotion and care. You could tell it wasn’t just words for the cameras too.
In a world where so many stay silent or play it safe, Pep chooses to stand up for what’s right. That’s rare. And honestly, it makes you realise just how broken society is when someone like him feels extraordinary for simply just being human.

Winning under him now feels even more special. It’s not just success, silverware and records - it’s knowing the person leading us to these achievements genuinely cares about humanity. He’s proof that compassion and decency can exist at the top.

When he eventually steps away from football, I can’t help but think the world would be better if someone like him had a bigger platform. People like Pep remind us that leadership isn’t just about success - it’s about doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult. Massive respect to him for that. Thanks for everything Pep.
I wish I could have liked this twice.

Excellent summary!

Used to be classed as dribbling if one of our players had more than 2 touches. This year we've got a team of "dribblers", dawdling on the ball for too long.

Prefer he didn't go down the emotive, messianic, Bono route. It's paved with hypocrisy.
Difference is Bono is a wanker.

Its a soft signal that he's away in the summer, in my opinion.
The fact that he's starting to show support for Palestine, a few months before the end of the season.
Now I applaud that he's highlighting it, but there will be those who will see it as divisive, bizarrely, that he's speaking out against the genocide.

He says at the start of the presser, "No journalist has ever asked me this before in 10 years. Maybe you're not allowed to ask because of the work you do."

He condemned the ICE agents killing of the protestors. I remember him mentioning Trump too but I don't want to trawl through a long press conference to find out exactly what he said.

I am sure he is doing his job at the same time. I don't have a problem with City playing a high line. It's not City's strength to defend like Arsenal.
