Funny how Arabian culture of Qatar allows a proper response in public while Abu Dhabi people cannot / will not do such a thing. Come on Mr. Chairman change the tune.
There is nothing wrong with playing the long game and we don't need to get legal on a frequent basis. But with modern day 24/7 digital media any business has to be proactive with its communications. Being passive is a mistake. We don't know how many sponsors we have lost because our reputation has been trashed. The reputation any business has is its most important asset. We do very little to protect our reputation. Our owners will never be accepted.
Originally our main owner was targeted with a barrier to entry (illegal in any other sector of business). He overcame that. Since then both on the field and off it we have suffered double standards yet still managed to bring the investment to maturity and have been self sustaining for some time.
Add to that a biased media that consistently lies about our achievements and legally correct finances yet we continue to invest profits into team improvements.
So people within the governing bodies of football spout vitreol in our direction, all in keeping with the initial attempt to blackball our entry.
If we became legal with these people what would happen I wonder?
Probably they would still hate and disrespect us privately, continue with private plotting against us and probably the media would use their ignore our achievements tactics more regularly.
Doing nothing has not damaged our ability to attract sponsors or even partners because they are backing where money can be made. They know why we are beating the football establishment at their own game, they like us plan for the future with their investments and see the panic protectionist methods from a frightened football sector still trying to delay our progress because they know we are right and their model is not.
In short, we continue the investment because the business model is right and our owners prefer to fight using their business model and see anything else as a distraction.
You may be correct but it seems our Co owners, Chinese and American, have not bothered to change Sheikh M s way of handling the bias that undoubtedly exists. Maybe everything we do is hush hush but as you say to no avail. There is nothing wrong with playing the long game and we don't need to get legal on a frequent basis. Look how much better Sterling did with his coverage when he went on the front-foot. The truth is that clubs like PSG, United, Liverpool, are much better than us at protecting their reputation. Of course LFC and MUFC are pushing against an open door with our media but you can't say the same for PSG.
I think the problem is that CFG has a global strategy and sometimes City lose out because the group has bigger fish to fry. That said it has been well documented that a lot of problems CFG have had with the ground move for New York City were caused by opposition groups who attacked our owner for the UAE's human rights record. You may be correct but it seems our Co owners, Chinese and American, have not bothered to change Sheikh M s way of handling the bias that undoubtedly exists. Regarding sponsorship like yourself I don't know but if we get value for our positional worth perhaps they don't know either.
I look at it this way, City are one of many investments owners make. It is up to our Chairman's team to ensure financial viability as we are self sufficient. Maybe threats to sustaining this may change his outlook but Sheikh M knew the score before he bought City.
They still don't want him so he has 2 choices to fight the injustices or ignore them.
His choice, his money.
As fans we fought everything before his takeover so it's alien to him. Again as fans we are one of the many income streams for City (albeit permenantly attached) not part of the owner sentiment.
I've spotted Florence Hardoin - but which one is the the wifeyNonsense, they've got 1 non-white, a wifey and a guy wearing glasses (to tick the disabled box). They've even got a bald guy and there's not even a box for that. How inclusive do you want?
Let’s just keep pissing the fuckers offWe’ll never be “accepted” in the same way PSG are. PSG arent a domestic issue to any substantial club. Marseille, Lyon etc great clubs in their own right but they don’t have anywhere near the same clout as United, Liverpool, Arsenal.
PSG are almost a benefit to european football as they make another league vaguely relevant.
All we do is get in the way of the red clubs.
No point expecting anything to change. We will never be accepted and we need to stop trying to be
For as long as we can. It wont last foreverLet’s just keep pissing the fuckers off
