Pep: 'The players deserve a full stadium, we need our fans!'

Its exactly what they should do.

Lots of business increase costs then make you think you are getting something for nothing and we could do the same.

Just include the CL group games in with the season ticket.

Exactly...the deal breaker for me is the fact that all the cup schemes are on your card rather than DD. I understand this regarding the normal cups as you cannot predict whether City will be home or away. But the CL is different...it's a league format initially...No reason why it cannot be included in the DD scheme as part of your season ticket

if pep wanted a full stadium and he feels the players need it, then the club could have easily,

if they had wanted to, simply have achieved this in the short term. however, they decided to

continue with tweaking their ticket price policy by promoting a group stage ticket bundle. the

club conceded this [only a tweak] by advertising pre-closure of CB3/SS3 for the gladbach game.

this of course relates to the original scheduled game and not to the rearranged fixture last night.

of course the two later home games in this years group stages will be seen by many who didnt

attend gladback or the home qualifier as more attractive and will attend one or more of these

two later games. i suppose the general consensus is these games will be sold out or very close too.

with a sellout crowd or close too for these two games already in house, then increased attendance

for these x2 later games can be attributed to peps passion and direct plea to the fans for additional

support....i am sure peps passion comes from the heart however the clubs spin machine likes it too.

Completely agree mate and the club are missing a trick imo.

When faced with a slightly larger DD payment at the start of the season or money you dont have going out of your account randomly i know what most would pick.

Pep make great demands of the players; greatly applauded.
Pep makes demands of the fans; indignant outrage.
This manager is going to transform this club throughout and he's not going to pussy foot about any issue. I know loads of City fans that follow avidly from their sofas and can more than afford to go, if he mobilises them, then great.
Spot on this, just think this game came a little early, I've had mates exactly as you describe who have followed city from their armchairs who suddenly want to go barca and Celtic. Won't be long before this thread is a distant memory.

Atmosphere last night was pretty good and considering that the game was rearranged with 24 hours notice I think it was a decent turnout.
UEFA didn't help by not allowing tickets to be sold on the day.
Even if it was free admission last night I don't think it would have been full because not everyone can rearrange their schedules that quickly.
Against Barcelona and Celtic we have no excuses not to fill the ground.

If you can afford it, join the CL cup scheme Simple. No messing around getting tickets, sit in your usual seat.
We should let none season ticket holders join a cup scheme.

I'm in all cup schemes and most games I have to move from SS3 to SS1 as they tend to close stand or give it to away fans.
But I do agree that more people should join cup schemes if they can afford it.

It is often said the crowd are the 12th man.
If Pep says booing the anthem is bad for our player moral then we should do what he says and cut it out.
The UEFA point has been made amply by now.
Let's give the team what Pep wants us to. It's the very least we should do!

Depends what your primary reason is for booing is, if it's regarding the financial side of things, I can live with that, not a problem, if it's because of UEFA's poor responses and attitude towards racism, then I fully support it, I have a zero tolerance policy towards racism.

I am in the cup schemes but could not make Wednesday due to work. Attendances are going to take care of itself with the football we are now playing.
It is a new beginning under Pep so why can't we now let bygones be bygones with regard to the booing of the anthem.
There are a lot of new people at UEFA as well. A lot of the old UEFA, who we were aiming our dislike at, hand also gone.
I'm all for offering the hand of friendship to a remorseful wrongdoer, but these twats never stop shafting us. Not allowing us to sell tickets to the rearranged game is just stupid beyond belief. The banning of alcohol sales; whilst the hundreds of tickets that they demand in hospitality are deemed civilised enough to enjoy a glass of Chateau Neuf du Poop , but a pint for a working fella after a shift is not acceptable - the little oik may get rowdy and that will never do.
The constant changing of rules to suit 'the old guard'.
Their past misdemeanours are more serious and well documented. Stop booing them. Fuck off
Boooooooooooo

Booing is shite now. I go home and away and over europe too and have been pissed off as anyone but time to lay it to rest. Boring and cringey now.

Get your tickets and get behind the lads.

30k last night - i thought was fine after Tuesdays fiasco. We would have got 42/43 had it gone ahead as planned. We get 54 at every league home game and Celtic and Barca will be full. Our cup crowds were i think the 5th best in Europe last season.

Nothing to see here - let the rags have there moment. i have had two already today - ask me what the crowd was - i just said i don't know, the atmosphere was great and the football even better.

Fuck em.

I think the club just need to be more reactive with the pricing and less hasty about closing sections due to anticipated lower demand, you can charge less but if you fill the place you will get more. I understand a far more complicated equation is needed but the using the simplest of maths to illustrate my point ...
30000 x average £25/ticket = £750000
55000 x average £15/ticket = £825000
So the club might (might being the operative word as I acknowledge there's no guarantee) have filled the place and earned £75000 on tickets sales alone, before any of these extra 25000 people have bought a pie or can of pop or a programme or gone to the club shop, you get the drift. Fucking ell, they could even price to make less on tickets but still more than make this up with matchday sales. They really need to do some number crunching and they will fill the place out.

I was there last night. It was a pain in the arse for me to be honest but I'm that excited to see us play this season that I went out of my way to get to the game. I've got commitments at home with a young baby and my Mrs was less than pleased that I was out again last night as she had to re-schedule something that she had planned. I'm lucky that she's pretty easy going I suppose.

If you've got commitments then I completely understand giving the game a miss but I work with a few lads that are blues and none went last night. They just didn't bother. This is the attitude I really don't understand. The football last night was beautiful at times and to see Gundogan play like he did on his debut was an absolute joy. Why, as a city fan would you not want to watch that in the flesh and at very very competitive prices? Baffling it really is. I completely agree with Pep on this I have to say. We do have enough of a fan base to compensate for those that can't make it, it just seems that these people aren't up for it.

Is that why we don't boo the squeaky clean premier league and FA ? My son boos because it was funny, no other reason. Pep asks us to stop, so he's stopping.
