Pep: 'The players deserve a full stadium, we need our fans!'

Does anyone else think that these comments mark Pep out to be a disrespectful motherfucker?
i think its a lot easier to get tickets for their games and usually they weren't charged top prices for games like we were. with the 30 quid tickets that could change. they along with lots of other teams have had no success whatsoever for 50 odd years and yet still attract tones of young lads. the higher you go up the league the older the away fan base tends to be imo.

united have the same people going to every away game.

It is actually the same up in Scotland, all the sides seem to have neds in that age bracket going to games, you can be at the station
the problem is if your talking about local fans ( beswick / areas around the etihad) they are some of the poorest places in the country. the majority ( just my opinion) aren't gonna pay 600/700 quid for a season ticket, i think the majority of season ticket holders are from sk8 or sale post codes and same for united. . games like tonight are a great chance for them to go though. i think we should have a 21-26 age category on tickets that would help massively.

You do have loads of young rags from places like Moston,Clayton, Eccles etc who get to games despite coming from not terribly affluent areas to put it mildly, good point about the 21-26 season ticket category.

I am 62 the other guys further down the row from me are similar age and all were there tonight, unlike many on here.
There was no "moaning" just full of support and comments on the game.

Easy target the older support but way out of line if you ask me.
Ive been all over with the club for many many years so think this targeting of "older" supporters is out of order.

At what age do you think we should stop attending the games?

Maybe we should stop now so we can leave it to the non existent hordes of younger fans who wanted to attend tonight,......and they were where?????.

For someone like yourself who has been watching City for awhile what's your early take on how they look & Pep's impact?

It wasn't just the success those bastards along with their referee mates enjoyed that is affecting us now, it was the limited size of Maine Road, once we were down to a 36k capacity and proper shit, it was almost impossible to get tickets for your kids for games.
If they don't get into the habit of going early on, it's not something they will pick up when they're older. I think this is the main reason for the aging fan base (which I accept I am one of now)

I think it is actually harder to loose match going supporters than to get new ones, you are spot on about getting into the habit of going early on.

areas around the ground are known for being big untied supporting areas that will change though. unless I'm wrong i remember a survey from a few years back that showed most united season ticket holders in manchester are from sale or sk8 post codes. I'm not saying they all dont go and are poor as fuck, but imo the average person from somewhere like beswick, longsight, ardwick aint gonna pay to go unless it cheaper. tonight was a great example of that. i think thats the best way of getting more locals in the ground, we need more of them at city games. anyway the future is ours :)

Make all the reasons you want to on why we don't get big crowds at CL games but round me there were a lot of absent faces tonight.

I think he is right about the booing actually, it has to stop and can be replaced with something more positive and encouraging to the psyche of the players. We have made our point and it is time to climb the step and move on. Concerning the stadium attendance/atmosphere, what Pep is showing is that he is very much hands on when it comes to all aspects of the club and he will say something when it needs to be said. Perhaps the wrong situation to highlight the issue due to the circumstances surrounding this game but his points are relevant and true, especially when it comes to crowd leaving 5-10 minutes before the match is over. That has to stop.

The quality of football at the moment is incredible and requires a lot of effort from the players and it will be ideal if as many fans as possible can stay until the end of the game to at least cheer them off. The away fans are great but the situation at the Etihad needs sorting out, especially in the champions league obviously.

Tonight was the easiest I've ever had it driving home from a night game. Stayed until the end, clapped them off, made my 10 minute walk to the car and was moving along the mancunian way in no time. There was no excuse not to stay until the final whistle. Especially after being served up that sumptuous feast of football.
