Pep: 'The players deserve a full stadium, we need our fans!'

Postponement and no tickets on sale today are not a recipe for a full stadium.

Barca last night had huge swathes of empty seats as well and they are arguably the finest side in the world.

Thought the crowd tonight where fantastic tbh and created a good atmosphere.

Hadnt we closed a section for the celtic and this game already?

Imagine Pep (who could go to any club in the world) getting this team to play insane football and then see empty seats and then see half the stadium fucking leave on 80th on a CL night. Its insane. There might be a point where players wont bother playing as much as they do now if its how it is.

The players get so absorbed in the match that I don't think they notice the fans during the match, when our stadium has filled up, but I think they notice all the empty seats from late fans when they first enter the pitch. I've wondered how they feel when they see that.
I don't know so much. I'm sure when Iheanacho bagged the late winter he wondered where the fuck everyone was. Maybe when the manager tells them at the end to applaud the fans they say 'what fucking fans..?'

Those that were there made a good atmosphere actually. The 'City win, United lose' sing went on for fucking ages.

Said it earlier, the booing needs to stop too.
I agree the point has been made and they got the message... to continue it now years after is just small time. There's a really good vibe about the Champions League happening right now for us this season so while spoil it.

I haven't enjoyed a game as much as that for ages. Good atmosphere. Proud to be a City fan because we turned out twice in 24 hours and that was a good crowd seeing as there were no sales on the day

Don't think his plea will work.
I just don't think we've enough fans yet to cover for season ticket holders who can't attend and/or don't want to

The wrong match to come out with this type of cliche. About 30% of fans who bought tickets could not even get there because of the very short notice.

I know of four people in work and a few mates who just couldn't be arsed going tonight after last night so sacked it off.

They are all local fans who could have easily got there.

If I know that many there's a fair bet that there are shit loads who just fucked it off.

To be fair we've had it coming for a while. It's a bit of an insult to the fans that go to every game though. Like people have said tonight was probably a bad example as there were issues with tickets not being available on the day.

As for asking us not to boo the champs league anthem, he hasn't used those exact words, but even so I don't think that is for Pep or anyone else to tell us what to do. Just as we back his on pitch selections maybe he should look into the reasons behind the booing and get behind the fans.

I seem to remember Kompany publicly supporting the fans over it during an interview the other year, which is the way it should be. UEFA have made things difficult at every turn for City, the only way the fans can demonstrate their frustration with them is by booing. Fair enough if some people don't like it or want to join in but a lot of fans feel strongly about it. Pep needs to respect that, even if he disagrees.

I love him, but he should check the rules. Loads of lad i know that couldnt go last night rang the ticket office today to go tonight but got an answer machine saying effectively uefa says fuck off boys

I'll be honest.

I'm a season ticket holder and generally don't go to champions league games because of the cost and the traveling mid week. But he's made me feel guilty. Awesome tonight I thought, the best feeling I've had since the beginning of Mancinis reign, something is happening here.

Thing is I don't want to insult the intelligence of our fans but a lot of the average city fans don't really know much about Borussia Moenchengladbach.

I know what you are trying to say but the opposition should not really be a factor. As a fan I am going to see my team play and, right now, it is brilliant to watch them and see the incredible improvement of our team. I just cannot wait to see the next game they play, irrespective of the opposition, and the brilliant entertainment they are now providing.
