Manchester City are weighing up a fresh move for Real Madrid defender Pepe despite plans to offer Joleon Lescott a new contract.
City, who have closed a £24.5million deal for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo, have had a £15m bid rejected by Madrid, whose new boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to keep the Portugal centre back. He is set to lose Raul Albiol to Napoli.
But Ancelotti has been told he must sell to help finance new signings and City must decide whether to raise their offer nearer £20m for a player who turned 30 this year.

When we'll be playing 60+ games a season, i think everyone will be happy to get a good rest from time to time. Well he wasn't played for a fair few games season because Mourinho kept dropping him because he wouldn't shut his mouth, constantly moaning about how much of a wanker Mourinho was...then he got injured.

Please please don't go for him, first of all he is not normal , just go and check his probability of getting yellow and red cards are higher than rest of the defenders in the world, reason why he lost his place just because his reputation, that's why verane took his place because he is clean tackler and good reputation. Pep is one of the worst reputative footballer in Spain, he always conceed a card in every game, in England his yellow will become straight red, this is not Spain and not Real Madrid where ref are too lenient to Madrid. I have no soupy about his ability as defender but he is a complete risk.

In my opinion, city should go for another defender, and ignore Pepe. He belongs to Dirty Madrid and he deserve that's place.

Few names as center defender like dragovic, Godin, fedrico Fernandez, sokho, rami.
