A new contract before Christmas would be brilliant.

Looking at Pep's history he needs a new challenge every few years , if he gets the success required i.e. Premier League titles and Champs League with us over the next couple of years , he will leave for another challenge or maybe another sabbatical , wouldnt be surprised if he ended up managing Spain in the future.
How long did it take Kosovo and Gibraltar to gain FIFA recognition? More likely he'll coach Brazil, Italy or France. What? Basque? Some people really clueless
I do think he’ll extend and coaching Catalan NT would be something many would love to see
Missed this earlier, I know Balague isn't always the most reliable but good to hear it come up again. I hope Pep's aiming for a few Champions Leagues so he sticks around a while.
This team is for the most part young. On the European-stage we're making strides but still have some very big opponents in our way. It would be a shame if Pep left before we were really crowned as a great European team. We have to become the dominant force in European football. Then the job is done. I don't really see how he can do that inside of his current contract as City needed a total rebuild when he joined and we were way behind where Bayern were.Be still my beating heart. Would that not be the most marvellous news!
It makes perfect sense as well. Although it is very possible (likely?) that we may have won the league and maybe even the CL, by the end of his contract - although that still is a stretch, I think - what is pretty clear is that the team still has lots of potential to get much better.
It would be strange to imagine Pep will strengthen the team to the point that it is at its absolute peak, and then leave, allowing his replacement to win everything and overshadow Pep's achievements. Of course i don't know what motivates Pep, but certainly in his shoes, I would not want that.
Totally agree mate. This team is for the most part young. On the European-stage we're making strides but still have some very big opponents in our way. It will take Catalunya just as long as Gibraltar and Kosovo for the same reasons - established FIFA members lobbying against their recognition for fear of their talent pool reducing as well as the obvious political reasons. Spain delayed Gibraltars recognition for years from pure vindictiveness, they've a solid footballing motivation to delay Catalunya.Clearly you've never been to Kosovo. It will not take 8 years to get recognized for a very developed nation of nearly 8 million
Brasil will never consider a foreign coach, that window shut a few years back when he was briefly linked (And perhaps even lobbying for) to the job. Hard to see it with the Azzurri for the same reasons but also because I couldn't imagine the Italians playing Pep's brand of football.
Les Bleus, on the other hand, would be possible but would the FFF have the cajones to do make that call? I am skeptical
Not necessarily true. The atmosphere at Barca was toxic at the time & it emerges the plan was for Pep to come here in 2012, but us winning the title in such dramatic fashion scuppered that.Looking at Pep's history he needs a new challenge every few years , if he gets the success required i.e. Premier League titles and Champs League with us over the next couple of years , he will leave for another challenge or maybe another sabbatical , wouldnt be surprised if he ended up managing Spain in the future.
