Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

simon stone reports the news by saying...

"As a manager, Guardiola will forever be entwined with that great Barcelona side including Lionel Messi that won two Champions Leagues in three seasons and has gone down as one of the greatest of all time.

His achievements at City will not eclipse those."
I'm just happy that he's that twisted by our success that he feels he has to do this. Proper inferiority complex.

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on Pep Guardiola signing a new contract with Manchester City: "I was delighted to see that. On a serious note, I think he's contributed so much to English football. I think he's revolutionised how a lot of teams play. I think he's incredibly talented and I think it's good for the English game that he's still here.

"He will continue to develop and evolve his style and people will potentially continue to follow that. From the competition side, I think it keeps the Premier League as the best game in the world."

good on Eddie

Always liked Edward.

His ability to simultaneously look his age and like an 11 year old on a school photo has always enthralled me.

The way he made a point about our poor recent form and how he's determined to turn it around, rather than leaving the club in the shit, says a lot about him as a man.

He is the polar opposite of old baconface in that sense, who, perhaps deliberately, left the rags in a shocking position when he called it a day.

We are incredibly fortunate to call him our manager.

Seems like they've took the news well over on the old Red Cafe.

This was taken from the thread ''Pep Guardiola sack watch" lol.

'The most logical reason behind pep signing a new deal is that he knows City are going to be rightfully relegated and he wants to prove he can achieve something with them that is actually their level, a playoff push in the championship perhaps.

Pep is no fool, he knows as well as the rest of us do that every single thing city have ever “won*” essentially doesn’t count because it was achieved through financial doping and cheating.'

Poetry.

Stone: why 2 years and not 1?
Pep: The weather. Aka fuck off Stone.

It blows my mind that some insignificant creature like Simon Stone has the outright privilege to speak directly to one of the greatest managers of all time, and he uses that opportunity to ask snide questions or aim cheap, derisory digs. Pep treats him with the contempt he deserves and rightly so but no one benefits from these interactions. Worse still is that Stone works for the BBC. How he landed and remains in that job is a mystery.
