Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Maybe Pep is losing his motivational skills, or maybe we're just not as good as people make us out to be. Other British and European sides have as good squads as ours but people fail to see that, PSG, Bayern, Juve, to name just three have top quality players all over their squad, so winning this competition is extremely difficult. Winning the prem again will be a challenge in itself as Chelsea, Liverpool, utd will all strengthen with quality players, nothing is a given with City anymore.

I’ve not read the whole thread but for goodness sake! Pep is our manager and will be until he goes which will be when either he or the club decide! Speculation about him going isn’t going to encourage him to stay is it? Let’s just concentrate on getting the team right without this nonsense about the manager!!!
This is what happened with Mr Pellegrini even before they announced Pep was coming! Leave it alone!

Properly knocked the stuffing out of me this one. Hard to get my head around everything that went wrong on so many levels but the buck stops with pep on this one. I don’t want pep sacked, I’d love it if he signs a new deal, but something just isn’t right when it comes to the champions league. Time to ignore football for a few weeks and let this pass, got a feeling it will take a while.

I don’t think we/our squad is as great as it’s often trotted out to be in the media.

Exactly.
If posters don't see the CL campaign has really been a systematic failure but not a one night thing that happened yesterday so be it. If we would have went past Lyon Bayern or PSG would have humbled us and this being a semi final or final, we don't even know what Pep would have served in the line up.
Unlike how some posters think , It's not a family shindig where Txiki comes and gives a open check to Pep and says : "Mate too bad you failed again in the CL , here is some 200 million for some craziness next season"
Accountability is required in all walks of life including in Football. Normally when companies spend millions on something it prefer getting their money worth.

To me Peps taken the team as far as we can go.
Barring a miracle next season we wont ever win the CL under him.
Bewildering tactics last night and many posters had written us off at 8pm, me included. Why pick Eric Garcia a man who wants to join Barcelona?
Why pick the slowest midfield in the world?
Why not just go for it with the attacking prowess that we have?
Why spend weeks praising Lyon a team that actually is not that great.
Pep turns into an idiot on knockout games and even more strange was post match he said the team wasn't ready to win the CL!
Not ready? Weve been in it 10 fucking years!!!

We need a new manager and new direction if we are to ever conquer Europe.
Exactly, that not ready to win it quote would go down like a lead balloon if I was in charge of the club. Fuck sake, he's spent an absolute ton of money on us getting nowhere in this competition, the Real Madrid result means absolutely nothing now when you surrender like a timid mouse to Lyon. Let's spend another 300m and see if we can make the semi again Pep, then we'll still not be ready. No more excuses, you've failed miserably in Europe mate.

Pep And Mancini

We'd rule the world ;)
Haha it's a nice idea but Mancini couldn't even get us out of the group in the CL or win the Europa League. I'm not sure consistent league success but an average of the Last 16 in Europe would appease some here!

It's clear the mistake was getting rid of Pellegrini. Is Di Matteo free these days?

Confused here too. It will take a while but we'll be into the new season before we know it.

I would prefer a new broom. We're partly in this to win the CL and what's the point of going through group stages etc if we end up with Pep over-thinking it as per usual?

If City weren't linked so strongly to Pep it would be highly likely he'd be facing the sack today but that's unlikely.
