Nobody is bigger than the club we all love, surely that is one thing on which we can agree. He should still be accountable.
If Pellegrini or Mancini had overseen this campaign, they would presumably be judged much more harshly by our hierarchy.
Yes Pep rightly has credit in the bank, but the very best keep moving forwards rather than dining out on achievements of previous years, no matter how awesome they were.
The owners are here for decades thank God, but they want us to rule Europe. We are nowhere near.

For the first time, I'm content with having him not re-sign.
We need to move onto the next stage and that is to have success in Europe. Unfortunately, Pep has proven he is no longer capable of delivering this.
I‘m fascinated to know who this manager is that can take us on from Pep to the next stage....

By making the whole club about Pep, it’s like Diana Ross and The Supremes, “Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City”.
Guaranteed question for any new signing “How big an influence was having the best manager in the world, Pep Guardiola manage you?”
Calling him a “genius” to anyone who will listen. He absolutely is bulletproof, and it’s a terrible mistake.
According to DeBruyne’s reaction and various reports, the players have lost faith in his tinkerman tactics in big games.
But what can they do? Pep’s boss is his best mate! Txiki and Sorriano have been appointed specifically to bring Pep in.
No way can we let him go in to his final year. It’s either sign a 3 year extension on the proviso Gundogan stops getting preferential treatment, or thanks for two incredible seasons out of 4 and let’s bring a hungry, ambitious and more humble coach in.

Recent recruitment has been poor. That's not just on Pep.
The neglecting of our left back situation has been fucking criminal.
Club in its current structure was built precisely to become Barca-lite and that included the recruitment of Guardiola. He will not stay indefinitely but I don't believe the longterm plan of the owners was to count on that - rather ensuring the foundation is set to build upon for years to come, even after he leaves

We needed Mancini to take us to the level of challenging for and winning trophies.
However, we then needed a change to galvanise the squad and in came Pellegrini who won the double and got us playing some of the best football we'd seen in a generation.
We then needed another change to elevate us to the next level. Pep came in and made us the dominant force in English football, we won 8 out of 9 possible domestic trophies including an unprecedented domestic treble (quadruple) and two back-to-back, title winning, record setting seasons in the league.
Is it possible we need another change to take us to the next level of competing in the latter stages and ultimately winning the Champions League?
