Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Jimmy Wagg has just told me Stevie Coppell is waiting on the sidelines for the greatest comeback since Jesus Christ.

I get all that and can understand the sentiment, but leaving the question unanswered will bring more negatives than positives to the club next season. It'll be another media circus show on a weekly basis which we could do without.

The degrees of it will depend on how well the team are performing,

Pep still managed a domestic treble in his final season at Bayern despite having to admit in the December he was leaving at the end of the season - Pellegrini got to a Champions League semi-final and won the League Cup.

You certainly don't hand Pep another £20m, one-year extension, if we then have to hand him it as a pay-off next summer because he's come up short again (depending on your definition of that) - and City have made an unnecessary rod for their own backs.

It makes complete sense just to keep a rolling review, manage the team and part with a handshake of mutual respect if it then needs to be the case.

Neither side would want to be seen sacking Pep Guardiola, too much love and respect on both sides.

Pep's duration on his contract is actually perfect as it stands. It affords flexibility for both.

If this is going to be his last season then Thanks for the memories, Centurions etc... I don't think we'd get past October before some serious leaks, in that case I would happily take Nanglesmann from next Summer, use this summer to have one last blast and get some immediate impact signings win back the title and go out on a high

I’m convinced Ian just posted his CAS tweet on the basis of the exoneration WhatsApp chain that was doing the rounds on here, with other posters saying the same thing before he tweeted out anything.

Now, after there was again activity on this forum with other users saying that Pep’s extended, he’s tweeted out another ‘scoop’ at a rather convenient time.

Call me cynical, but I genuinely think his source is bluemoon and he regurgitates it as his own.
Thats cynical. :-)

Unless of course you are a player about to commit to a long contract
If one of the pulls was playing for Pep you would any time know that he was committed to staying as well
I certain would

If Pep dosent extend and goes who do you think his replacement would be? all iv seen is Pochettino, id love Nagelsmann but Bayern are in the way of that.

Nagelsmann might be available - Hansi Flick has done so ridiculously well that they can't get rid of him unless he really fucks up.

It depends how bold the club are. Pep gave Bayern a list of coaches he felt would continue his work, but they bottled it and picked Ancelotti because they weren't big names.
