Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

For those thinking pep had lost his enthusiasm
He is probably still devastated by his mums death and also on a downer about our fa cup and champions league exits
But make no mistake he is a winner and still the best coach in the world
Just because the haters tell you klopp is the messiah don’t believe it
He has less leagues, cups and champions leagues
He has had a few good seasons but soon when the real klopp the Mard arse excuse making ref blaming journalist biting head off klopp comes out he’ll get the same treatment
He’s had it easy so far but when the going gets tough let’s see

Could not agree more, but what happened last season?

Where was Bernardo?
David Silva has since left the club, unless we go out and sign a replacement which apparently we’re not doing then Bernardo surely will play more in central midfield.

50 plus games you will need to rotate all players, Foden is still young and will need looking after.

I'm surprised. So you'd want to replace Silva with another CM, leaving us with A N Other, KDB, Gundogan, Foden, Bernardo and Doyle on the fringes all competing for two positions? Assuming a 60 game season that's 20 starts each.

For me to have so many players for those positions is self defeating as it would cause more problems than it will solve. It would mean spreading our money too thin to have so many players, demoralise younger players by diminishing their first team opportunities, and make whichever senior who can't get near the first team unhappy.

Would add to this that if, and it's a big if, Foden needs looking after, there's more than enough resources available for us to do that.

Tbh I struggle to take this point seriously.

Doyle will only pay a handful of cup games.

David Silva started 22 games.

One major injury to KDM, Rodri or Gundo and we are very short.

The first 2 have had their fair share of injuries before.

That Lyon defeat might actually work in our favour if Pep is out to prove a point.

I would jut prefer it if he signed a contract extension now. Perhaps wiser if he leaves it providing it's genuine and not just a clever way of letting it lapse.

Unless Pep locks himself to a ball and chain to us for another 10 years, I'd be tempted to get rid of owd 'Fraudiola' for an up and coming manager like Pochettino.
Think this might a clarkie but I'll risk it.
You mean the one who won all those trophies?
Have some respect FFS. He loves City.
