The real question is can we afford to give Pep a new contract. At the moment I don't think that he deserves a new contract at all. There are plenty of reason why he should not be given one.
1st failure to find a replacement for Vincent Kompany
2nd so far a failure to find a replacement for Sergio Aguero
3rd so far a failure to find a replacement for Fernandinho
4th failure to find a replacement for Zabaleta.
5th failure to find a replacement for Yaya.
6th failure to bring in a good young coach to replace him should he leave. yet he brings in a coach much older than he his who no doubt will be moved on should we get a new coach
These were the backbone of the team for years and yet one by one Pep has let them go. yet he still hasn't found a replacement for Yaya 2 seasons on. Pep more than likely knew the season Vinny left that he wouldn't be staying on did he bother looking for a replacement no. Last season and so far this season he ahs nor deserved a new contract.
I say that we as a club should now be looking at a replacement for Pep. There is still a week left of this transfer window to bring in players ready to play in the first team. There seems to be more speculation of players leaving than staying. Even today there is talks of both Garcia and Zinchenko both going to Barcelona. There is no news of incoming transfers.
Has Pep come up with any new ideas about how to play football no. He still insists on playing the way he playing the same way as when he first came to England. Every manager now knows the way he will play, and so they will pack the defence play the long ball forward have a speedy forward and race away to try and score. If pep continues trying to play his way we will suffer more defeats this season than last season. Either pep comes up with some new ideas of how to play or let him go at the end of his contract
