Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

You know what? i'm fucking going to say it. Credit to bloody Liverpool supporters. They may be in a delusional bubble at times, they may be culty, but they back their manager and players as if they were the best.

For the best part of 5 years, under klopp, when they bounced between 7th in the league to 3rd at best, before they came even close to winning anything, i've seen them defend ther manager, argue it was all part of a rebuild and time was needed to build a winning team, and argue how good their players are. I remember thinking, how long does this build take, how long can that narrative last. No idea what their forums are like but from anyone i've ever heard, they've always backed their squad and management (helps when the media do the same i know) no end.

Contrast that to so many on here wanting a manager that has won unprecedented success, not just at the club but never before seen in the league and country, rid off, because the team lost 9 fucking games and got knocked out of a cup in a one off round! In a season of injuries, var, that CAS debacle the club went through, and a global pandemic.

Second game of the season, depleted squad, no pre-season, and it's time for him to go, write the rest of all competitions off?

Genuinely can't understand it.

PS. Fucking Pochetino???

They probably knew Klopp wanted to stay though mate, you can’t expect loyalty if it doesn’t work both ways. £400 million quid on defenders seriously who else would get away with that. He needs to start being a manager and park the ideology. If we are going to back him and he stays fine but he needs the best of everything otherwise it doesn’t work.

It’s dead simple mate, you buy into his philosophy or you don’t. There’s no grey area in this. You either accept our weaknesses and know we will concede stupid goals most games but allow it because you know more often than not we will win games and trophies.
Or, you don’t.
I get why some have had enough and that’s their prerogative, seeing shit goals conceded is fucking infuriating, and seeing the same mistakes made isn’t much better.
It comes down to wherever you think the positives outweigh the negatives. There’s no right answer, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
As it stands though, I still want him in charge and feel he’s still the best manager we could possibly have - even with his obvious shortcomings.

I agree with you but unless you continually get the recruitment and motivation of the players bang on it can go very bad very quickly. No way of playing lasts forever. Other teams are using the ideals of Pep but can also manage to get some sort of defensive cohesion. People copy and adapt. Frankly last season and the beginning of this has followed an obvious pattern. The football that was once breathtaking is pretty boring. This many losses to poor sides, this many defensive fuck ups added to a lot of boring sideways football has done it for me.

Why people can’t see the end of his cycle when him Khaldoon and txiki have said it happens themselves is beyond me. Domestically he has done a good job but he has to be careful because 2 leagues in 5 and nowt in Europe suddenly dilutes his genius that too many are holding on to.

I personally think he is going at the end of the season anyhow so I’m not sure what we are doing here to be honest. He needs to start earning his wages or go with our best wishes.

Others see it different it’s all good. No one really wants a Mancini bluemoon fall out again but it’s coming. Would be nice to win some games and play decent football again.

IMHO this will depended upon Pep's happiness on two fronts, primarily whats happening with his family life and whats happening in his football life if its a positive from both then he extends

Watching VAR again last night and the officials performance id be gone like a fucking shot.

You think he's weak then? VAR and refereeing maybe biased but that's not the reason why City are struggling. It's an ever-present.

I've watched the Leicester game back now and the pens were all very soft. There's no way a Man Utd or Liverpool would have faced 3 pens and in the Brighton game we saw how VAR is used to their benefit. The defender conned the ref in the Pogba pen. Slowed down, got the contact and went down but that was the same as in the city game. Defenders get the wrong side, forwards collapse, ref all to ready to give it.

There is that factor but we're also defensively poor at the moment. No point trying to pass it all off as conspiracy.

I think he has been at the club longer than he has been anywhere. I think he lost his mother in the summer. I think his wife has moved back to Barcelona. I think he is very much on record as being fucked off with the way the club is treated on and off the pitch.

Name me one side in world football that wouldn't struggle to win a home game in which the opposition is awarded 3 penalties?

I'm all ears?

I find it hard to moan against VAR when pur defenders gave away three penalties in a single game. We should be focusing on ourselves, not Liverpool.

Another missing the point.

How many times do Liverpool defenders give away penalties only to see the officials and VAR declining to give them?

Handball twice last night on goals again not given or looked at? Mane who scored the equaliser shouldn't have been on the pitch?

Same posters ignoring that turn on our own and say they deserve it when we get pinged for the same and pinged we fucking get each and every time.

i edited my post immediately after making it. There is some refereeing bias but we repeatedly concede goals from the opposition's first attack because our defensive midfield is not up to scratch and our defenders make mistakes.

I'd be disappointed with Pep if he walked from this. He should rebuild City. That will be a test of his coaching ability. He should relish it, not run from it.
