Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

He’s the most unpredictable bloke so it’s hard to know what he’s looking for.
That's why you may well be right in that he's not made his mind up and again what the reaction of the players will be in the next few weeks.

Not sure I would take that to be true, maybe he was happy to continue with these players if he was not sure he was going to stay longer.

It's the weakest squad we have had for a long time and even more so with a CWC at the end of the season
Well Pep might have got it wrong then? Doesn’t mean because we didn’t sign loads of players that means he’s off.

We only signed Grealish summer 2021 and Mahrez summer 2018. That argument doesn’t hold up for me.

Not sure, it was a very strange window, maybe we have serious deals lined up for Jan and next summer and we were happy to wait as there were no other viable options.

Maybe the execs think the market may crash in terms of fees, whatever we trust the execs, they have done us proud.

A lot of players well past their prime and losing Alvarez and having one one striker was a huge risk even before the Bobb injury.

Pep doesn't like unrest conflict and why he has a small squad and why player can ask to go we will facilitate that! Pep looked for the first time a bit troubled uptight! The reason for me is he sees the squad and he knows there isn't a solution without Rodri without changing his principles! We all know Pep doesn't change his principles!!

So let's hope if we get the amount of chances we did in the first half against Sporting we bag a couple..

Not for me. I still think he hasn’t decided.

I think he would never leave without at least 6 months' notice, He respects the club too much to just keep us guessing. When asked about the England Job he never said he was not asked ? he just said to ask the new manager

The truth is what more can he do ?? he's won everything, staying too long can darken all the great times and the unrest from the stands when things are not going too well hurts

Might seem weird to say, but i'm not sure i see the benefit to the club if Pep extends for 1 more year. Now could be a good time to start fresh, and actually plan for the next 5-10 years. Instead of a season in which every man and their dog knows its gonna be his last.
don't think there are top managers will be avaialble next year, however in 2026 could be more options i.e. nagelsmann (personal fav)

Kompany Bayern esque appointment if he does leave. One no one saw coming.

Timeline for Nagelsmann doesn’t work either, no good having a manager come in at the end of the World Cup. We’ll need the manager in from the end of the club season

I get the feeling that Pep wants one more year to make It a respectable decade at the top, but the big noises on the board want him to commit to another solid 3 years for the Inevitable rebuild, there's an impasse In there somewhere and nobody wants to budge, It could all end up with the all parties mutually agreed on a parting of the ways.

Agreed mate.

It’d be like that last season Pellers was here and no one was arsed.

If he does get off I’d love to see Ancelotti here. Think he’s still the 2nd best there is.

Think Nagelsmann would come before the World Cup if Pep left this season. It always appeared to me this is a club he would love to manage he would only be offered it once.
Interestingly it was stated that in Klopps new job there is a clause in his contract if the German job comes up he can leave.
