Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Reaching the CL final without a top scorer is utterly embarassing? Are you a wum, crazy or just an imbecile?

You are completely ignoring the refereeing mistakes against us vs Liverpool, Spurs and Lyon, and are repeating media cliches about our spending. You are ignoring also individual mistakes vs Spurs (Aguero, Laporte) and Lyon (Sterling, Laporte) which had nothing to do with tactics and the manager. If you are a genuine City fan, you are a victim of the media cliches against City.
No I’m annoyed because we’ve been shite in Europe ffs. Yeah refs were dodgy but we had no control vs Spurs and fucked up by not scoring an away goal in the first leg. You may say “oh but Aguero had a pen saved” well pens are clearly a weakness, have we fixed that? No.
Lyon was appalling. Yes players made mistakes but we bent over backwards for a shite team that were 7th in their league.

Lyon was a complete FU** up by Pep as was last night, but the fact remains he has made us the finest team in world football to watch.

But we must learn from last night, and I would hope the Chairman and Execs do get into why and what happened last night, it was not the defeat but the manner of it.

We haven't done well in Europe at all.

Tuchel six months in charge and not penny spent, European Cup winners. Whilst we have spent about a billion and managed 1 CL final even lost that in terrible way.
Seriously, they spent a shit ton of money on players, just because it was a few months before Tuchel took over it hardly makes them a free transfer team.

Also, is this the Tuchel that was in charge at PSG one of the world's biggest spending teams and not winning the champs league with them cost him his job, it is the same Tuchel isn't it?

Pep has won 14 from 16 finals in his career. Anyone thinking he has a problem with big games doesn't understand basic things about how football works: that even the best teams lose games and that even the best teams need luck. Both CL titles Ferguson won involved a lot of luck. Bayern dominated and hit the bar when it was still 1:0, Terry slipped and Manure won...

I'm sure that most Chelsea fans don't believe they are the best team in the world. They played with more freedom and less pressure, for they were the underdogs. Our players weren't at their best. It's utterly simplistic to reduce our performance to Gundogan at DM instead of Rodri/Ferna. The players should perform to the best of their abilities no matter the tactics. Our players failed to do it, both in defence and attack.

You mention Fergusson, domestically probably the best manager ever, in Europe , average, the rags should have won more euro titles with their team.

But Pep has issues in the Champions League and the longer it goes on, the more it seems to muddy his train of thought, simply over thinking the game.

Pep has issues because he wants to win with style and flare, and not purely pragmatically like Mourinho or Ferguson or Anchelotti. He isn't another Mourinho or Ferguson, that's why he has influenced how football is played like no other manager since Michels and that's why even people like Neville and Caragher say he may end up as the greatest ever. Mourinho and Ferguson haven't introduced anything significant tactics wise.
