Must admit to having a twitch in my special place when I read the '10 year plan' comments this morning.... XD

Brilliant!

I do not know ofc how long he will stay but 5 years never made sense to me. Consider his desires at Barca, he said stuff needs changing ever 4-5 years as stuff gets stale. Traditionally i.e. how every other club is run he would be right. There were also internal politics that saw him disillusioned which ultimately saw him realize the vision he had for Barca being a dynastic football club was never going to happen. You can read more here to get the gist of it http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3277.../the-real-reason-why-guardiola-left-barcelona

Here he has a blank canvas for his vision with the back room there to help him, not push and pull the other way. We have the most amazing world wide infrastructure which i am sure sits well with Peps vision. That includes him being backed with any player decisions to. Say a few of the spine need to be changed or the manager goes in a few years, there is only one winner. Everyone of our suits in the grand scheme are support staff not "general admin". I suppose that term "hollistic" should be used at this point.

There is a fair chance we never see the likes of our setup again if you think of it. The setup we have with us having a good history but ripe for a real identity being set again, good fan base, even utd provide a rivalry many think is the biggest derby/grudge matches going now. The prem is on fire with loads of top managers and top players. All of that with the best club affording the best ever manager his desires, want to build a dynasty? go hard mate, what do you need from us?

Bollocks, i want to see him chained to an MCFC branded radiator.

So does one of the girls I work with but possibly not quite in the same way.

Love what he's done. As a man manager, Peps talent for encouraging, developing and identifying talent is phenomenal.

Not sure if the point has been raised in the prior 40 pages, but:

Although Guardiola has historically only stayed for about 3 years on a project, City presents a unique challenge to Pep.
With the size and scope of the City Football Group, Pep has the opportunity to have not just one, but 6 or more Clubs playing under his supervision. A worldwide network of players, academies and coaches doing it his way. An opportunity to create a generation of players, coaches and teams that dominate the world of football.

And, when it's time for Pep to step back from the day to day management of City, he will have any number of coaches and managers ready-made to step in his place... and then... he still has job options as an overseer of the Project Writ Large.

Considering the possibilities gives me chills.

It's his opportunity to emulate the achievement of his idol and mentor, Cryuff. In the same way that the Dutchman left an indelible print upon the footballing ethos of Barcelona, Pep now has the opportunity to do this at City.
Of course, he may well choose to move on somewhere for all sorts of other reasons but he won't get the same opportunities anywhere else that will undoubtedly weigh very heavily (in our favour) on his decision.

Bloody hell. i missed the directtv interview from March 10th "I do not rule out continuing to lead in 10 years. It will depend how I feel and if they want me."

I am gobsmacked.

He loves it here.

One thing I find quite unique about our fans is a large amount seem to support/idolise the manager (more so than other clubs) and always come up with a song for him (Guardiola, Pelle, Mancini, Sven etc). Being a manager here probably makes him feel like a player again and like one of the other posters said above, it presents a unique challenge.
