Yep, only this. He turned City and Pep down previously to replace Arteta and stay at Sociedad.
Clearly a man with principles and loyalty.
For me, Alonso would be the wrong choice. He would be linked with Real every summer he was in England.
He has Madrid written all over him after Ancelotti.
I'd like Ancelotti next summer, personally. A class act.

I would love Ancelotti to come in after Pep. It could be similar to Pellegrini, not a long-term appointment, but would still be ambitious and when he's ready to leave one of the current crop of young, ambitious managers should be ready to take up the reigns... Vincent Kompany, maybe?
Doesn’t matter because Carlo has just announced he’s retiring after RM!I agree that Ancelotti is a class act but he wouldn't be my choice because I think he often underachieves in the league and I'm not convinced he is the right choice stylistically. He might add a few UCL's though!
I get what you say about Alonso but, if he is not a flash in the pan, the set-up at City might suit him very well and have a similar effect to what it has had on Pep.
We're lining up Ferguson as Pep's successor?Bacon can be nice, too!
Madrid basically have one competitor in La Liga, it's not far off the Scottish league in jeopardy, they can go easy in the league, that's why their champions league record is so good. Ancelotti would be a no from me although I respect his accomplishments.I agree that Ancelotti is a class act but he wouldn't be my choice because I think he often underachieves in the league and I'm not convinced he is the right choice stylistically. No fucking chance. Pep hasn’t got a purple pedal-bin.Not sure if this has been shared, but pretty sure his apartment is currently up for sale - https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/145443707#/?channel=RES_BUY
I agree with this , losing Pep will be a tough one to move on from but a clean break with a fresh mindset will be what we need to get over itWatching Nasal lose at the French Open should remind everyone that legends lose their juice at some point.
Pep just needs to lie in the shade for at least a year after his time is done with City.
I'm fried after these nine years, so goodness knows how Pep must feel being in charge of it all!!
I actually think the time is nearing where the fanbase needs a reset? I've smelt it even from myself.
Left right on the whistle at Wembley, didn't go to the parade...
I appreciate Pep and the team so much, but I'm starting to crave chicken rather than guaranteed steak every night :(
I want to keep winning everything but maybe in a different way and style, have more risk to our play?
I came away from Wembley and three hours later I was home and over it.
Losing to United in a Cup Final and over it? That's not me, it should never be me.
Jack Rodwell is still playing…Brian Marwood.
I agree with everything you say, but when teams are so negative against us all what do we do.Many fans feel same way - its not just due to Pep - its the fact we have won it all. If you like sausage sandwiches you dont like the 4th one as much as the first.
Wouldn't be too sure about Ancelotti regardless. His stint at Bayern following Pep caused some issues for their squad. Too sharp a change between two philosophies
I think Pep would have a clear run at the title for the next 3 years if he signed a 2 year extensionthe drop off from Pep will be big. especially in terms of the dominance he created. if we get a good replacement he may win title or may get very far in CL with a strong City squad. but I am certain we wont be anywhere near 4 titles in a row or let alone be in 4 close title races going till the last rounds.
chances are without Pep we win one of next 4 titles with Arse, dippers and one of Chelsea/rags may win one as well. if Pep is here and he gets proper backing the transfer market (not the likes of Nunes, Phillips) I can see us winning 3 of next 4.
once Pep gone the high level of dominance is gone as well.
of course I am optimistic that we wont drop off that much as rags did after Fergie, they hadnt really been part of a title race for a decade and failed to qualify even for CL quite a few times and even when they did they were turned over like this season...
while I think its huge that other younger managers worked with him getting top jobs across many top leagues (Xavi, Kompany, Xabi Alonso, Maresca, Arteta etc) none of them are Pep.
I think especially now it would be great to extend with him while most rivals looking to change managers, those will need time to settle (Slot, Maresca, new rags manager once Clown is fired)...

im just worried how me manage the comms on it going into next season. The longer he doesn’t commit the louder the noise around it. It could potentially become a hinderance to our performance on the pitch
we would need to announce officially around March at the latest but is complicated by who his replacement would be. Ancellotti would be a good move as his contract is up anyway so would antagonise the club we are recruiting from
hed be a safe pair of hands for a couple of seasons
Try telling Casemiro that !If you like sausage sandwiches you dont like the 4th one as much as the first.
Not even got a garden....Goodness me. He’s cleared out his stuff already!! In fact - he moved out in 6 MARCH according to the site. Just so you know - there may be other apartments in his block LOL
Both Alonso and Arteta would be capable of winning PL titles at City.the drop off from Pep will be big. especially in terms of the dominance he created. if we get a good replacement he may win title or may get very far in CL with a strong City squad. but I am certain we wont be anywhere near 4 titles in a row or let alone be in 4 close title races going till the last rounds.

Valid point. If you want a successful day fishing, good fisherman use ground bait, they throw it out at the place they think they will get the best chance of a bite. Why the fuck does anyone need a fishing rod.
