Peps Targets

What about Yaya doesn't fit Pep? Is it ball retention, which he does better than practically anyone on the squad now bar Nasri. Or is it the 5 second retrieval rule? Which mostly affects the front 5. Neither Busquet nor Alonzo often find themselves a key participant in that endeavor. Nor to mention, how it's a lot easier to accomplish when its a stated tactic.

Yaya is the most Pep ready player we have. If nothing else, he is the only one who has worked under Pep before and understands Pep's past ideas the best.

Like I said, nothing about Yaya suggests a ' nonfit for Pep'. Fans may want him gone. But this says nothing about how well he fits Pep's systems.
He is gone. His attitude stinks. Sorry but it does. And pep doesnt allow that. Etoo, ronaldinho, toure all went. Ibra wasnt his signing, but he went after 1 year. Plus he never stays in position and is not consistent enough anymore. Plus, his agent has confirmed he is gone. I love yaya for all hes done, and he is a great player, but his time has come i feel.

Hart/new ball playing keeper
Zaba/new rb?
Komps/otamendi
Stones or Laporte/Denayer
Alaba/Angelino/delph
Pogba/weigl
De bruyne/dinho/delph
silva/nasri
messi/navas
sterling/sane
Kun/kelechi/lacazette

hart
zab komps laport alaba
Pogba
De bruyne Silva
Sterling Messi Aguero

I'd imagine that team would not fit a 433;
--------------------Hart------------------
-----------Kompany--Otamendi-------
Zabba-----------Dinho-----------Alaba
---------De Bruyne------Pogba---------
-----Messi---------Kun-------Sterling--

Tissues please.

I wouldn't be surprised if Yaya stays as either the pivote or a CB.

I think economics may be the biggest factor in what happens to Yaya. Pep may well be happy to have him in the squad and Yaya might be happy to stay, even in the knowledge that he will start far less frequently, but £200k a week is a lot to pay someone who is not a regular starter, even City may not want to be part to that equation.

Although I do agree in a technical sense, unlike alonso and busquets doesn't sit in front of our defence and like him or not is showing his age his laziness at times costs the team and its that simple. Maybe we will see Yaya stay and come back next season a stone lighter but I just can't see it, for me a final pay day is coming. At some point over the next few years we will only have joe out of our old guard left like it or not our tittle winners are nearing the end of there careers.

Yaya is a no no. He's already committed to AFCON qualifiers next season. We can't and shouldn't take up a squad place for that.

If Yaya is to leave then let's hope we can get a decent fee from one of the Chinese clubs a nice 20mill for the transfer kitty would do nicely.
