Peps Targets

Pep plays 4-3-3 or 3-3-3-1 pretty religiously.
I fully expect Aguero to be nominally playing wide-left more than 50% of the time.
As to the rest who knows..
5 or 6 in 2 or 3 out.

What about Yaya doesn't fit Pep? Is it ball retention, which he does better than practically anyone on the squad now bar Nasri. Or is it the 5 second retrieval rule? Which mostly affects the front 5. Neither Busquet nor Alonzo often find themselves a key participant in that endeavor. Nor to mention, how it's a lot easier to accomplish when its a stated tactic.

Yaya is the most Pep ready player we have. If nothing else, he is the only one who has worked under Pep before and understands Pep's past ideas the best.

Like I said, nothing about Yaya suggests a ' nonfit for Pep'. Fans may want him gone. But this says nothing about how well he fits Pep's systems.

Does he fit into a position that Yaya wants to play, though?

Football wise he is very much a pep player as football wise was eto and deco. Lifestyle wise Yaya probably is too but maybe he is not hard enough at pressing to be a midfielder under pep and I am not sure pep would have much time for his agent and some of his attitude.

Yaya could be a perfect centre back fo pep and would have the talent to take on the Boateng playmaker role , if we played with a less high line and had a defensive midfielder I also don't think he would be too exposed for pace either. But I think Yaya would rather go elsewhere and express his attacking talent in a more forward role. Yaya could be the best passing centre back in football if he wanted

With us at a cap in our squad other than club trained how do we get 6 in and only 3 out. Unless 3 of the 6 are club trained when probably only Denayer will be, though Iheancho I think becomes club trained he isn't an addition

I don't think we're looking at a galactico superstar 11. We'll certainly see some changes, but it won't be wholesale. It's more likely we'll see bigger changes in the summer of 2017 when he's got his core players and instituted his brand of football.

Although I do agree in a technical sense, unlike alonso and busquets doesn't sit in front of our defence and like him or not is showing his age his laziness at times costs the team and its that simple. Maybe we will see Yaya stay and come back next season a stone lighter but I just can't see it, for me a final pay day is coming. At some point over the next few years we will only have joe out of our old guard left like it or not our tittle winners are nearing the end of there careers.

For example...
.................Hart................
Zaba Kompany Otamendi NewLB
.............Fernandinho...........
DeBruyne Pogba Messi NewSpeedy
.................Aguero..............

Pure fantasy I know but my theory would be KDB to feed killer balls, Pogba to drive into the box, Messi to essentially play Silva's role but score too, someone to add pace on the wing (like Robben), Aguero to be very central, full backs to get forward, Very energetic but disciplined CM to cover and hold.

I'd imagine that team would not fit a 433;
--------------------Hart------------------
-----------Kompany--Otamendi-------
Zabba-----------Dinho-----------Alaba
---------De Bruyne------Pogba---------
-----Messi---------Kun-------Sterling--

Pep likes to play total control football dominating midfield and his centre backs have to be good on the ball and strong tacklers. If you look at when he signed mascherano he played him as a CB because he could read the game was comfortable coming out with the ball and could win tackles.also pep likes to play the False number 9 with two supporting midfield wide men. So we could see a change in role for aguero if indeed he fits peps formation.i could easily see one of messi or Neymar or players that can play central or wide but also play the false number 9 role.his way is to dominate possession with all players interchanging but then always outnumbering the opposition in there half. Therefore allowing for a fast turnover of possession but at the same time keeping maximum ball retention .players must stick to the roles they have been given for this system to flourish.thiery Henry said in one game for Barcelona he scored a goal but was then substituted. When he asked pep what he did wrong pep replied" I gave you a role to play but you didn't stick to that role". So Henry quickly realised for guardiola s system to work all players have to stick to there specific roles.you only have to look at Bayern to see how they now mimic Barcelona in total possession when they play. And to now have him as our manager is going to be a real exciting era in English football.

I know he's not playing particularly well lately, but it breaks my heart to see all these team sheet proposals without the name Silva in
