Peps Targets

Isn't Kroos a more defensive midfielder / deep lying playmaker (Pirlo type) who could play where Fernando does now. While Gundogen is more all round central midfielder. Could work together with KDB in front maybe

Would not even consider Kroos if we are getting gundogan as well we would have a repeat of last year with that big gaping hole between the midfield and the defence, one of the good things about Xhaka, like Busquets he doesn't drift out of position much, besides all that how much do you think Kroos would cost compared to Xhaka.

going to be one kick ass midfield next year. high on energy running around like a pack of wolves chasing the prey down......
I actually have a feeling Nasri will be given a year under pep till June 2017 and i have a feeling injuries preventing he will be a revelation under PEP. Has great ball control and is a technical player which Pep likes. With Silva's ankle busted and the amount of running Pep's midfield does it may be Silva potentially who may be dropped more often and KDB taking his position....

All conjecture at this point, but man flipping excited like a kid in a candy shop....

I feel like everyone on this site has written off Nasri but I agree, I think he could be a revelation under Pep, maybe even this season when he gets fit before the title run-in.

Not sure how much running Nasri does, off the ball.

Attitude would have to improve significantly too. Not a good idea to kick out at opposition players in recent European match.

Still makes me smirk that we are talking about signing world class players.

Eight years ago, we would've been creaming ourselves about trying to sign Jordan Rhodes

Off the ball when we are in possession, I think he is one of the best in the league. When the other team is in possession, he is average like most of our other players outside of Dihno, Navas.

Out: Demi, Mangala, Bony, Yaya, Fernando, Kolarov, Zab (unfortunately) and Caballero.
In: Xhaka, Gundogan, Pogba, Stones, Laporte, Zieler, Bernat, Chamberlain.

Guessing at who's coming and going is super hard with all the uncertainty and so many names being linked to us with Pep on board.

If Pep can instil some sort of consistent work rate in Nasri, then he is a Pep player down to a tee. Can sometimes take the easy option in terms of passing, but his ability to keep the ball is phenomenal.
I'm reading the Pep book at the moment too, and they talk about having the players in the team who have an ability to slow the play down when required. As a fan that can be hugely frustrating, and often allows the opposition to get back into position, but done at the right time, which obviously Pep would ensure, then there are few better players at that than Nasri.

Issue is his workrate.

I'm more inclined to think more players will be reshuffled into new positions and this we wouldn't buy as many as people think, even though a good few will leave.
Defense:
Demichelis, Mangala, Zaba and Kolarov

Midfield:
Yaya, Fernando,

Attack
Bony

Incoming: Larpote, Gundogan, Pogba, Dembele

Team
GK: Hart, Willy, Gunn/Lawler
LB: Delph, Clichy
RB: Denayer, Sagna
CB: Kompany, Otamendi, Larpote
CM: DeBryune, Silva,Nasri, Fernandihno, Pogba, Gundogan,
WM: Sterling, Navas, Dembele
FF: Aguero, Kelechi

Fill the team up with EDS players.

I'd rather Cancelo to Bellerin, a lot more attainable as well. Strikes me as a very Pep type fullback, Dani Alves-esque in the way he can provide that extra attacker against a tightly packed defence. We've not been linked with him for a year or so though so it's probably not likely, I wouldn't be surprised if we got a couple of young relatively unheard of fullbacks in for not a whole lot of money like Bayern did with Juan Bernat
