My dream Pep squad:

Hart (1st choice)
Szczesny (Begovic like transfer. Solid HG back up/competition for Hart)
Lawlor (Unless they want to loan him. Wright as player coach still)

Zabaleta (Sagna out of contract and more versatile LB or DM)
Maffeo (Give a chance Denayer can also play RB)
Denayer (Can also play RB)
Kompany
Otemendi
Clichy (HG and would rather keep than Kolarov)
Angelino (Give a chance, think he'll make it, but Zaba can also play LB)
Mangala (Think he'll keep him, lack of options out there and new buys could limit Denayer's chances)

Fernandinho
Delph
Weigl
Pogba (Marquee Signing Yaya replacement)
Nasri (Can play deeper and expect it)
Silva (Can also play deeper, may be used here but also more forward)
De Bruyne
Sterling
Sane

Neymar (Huge signing, probably wouldn't expect him and Pogba but given his comments about Pep and U.S and his Tax situation who knows)
Aguero
Iheanacho

Xhaka is one guy I'd love to get. Only time I got to watch him was this season in the champions league. He's good on the ball, breaks up play. Him alongside gundogan (?) and pogba (?) will be breath taking, possibly the best midfield trio.

The videos 11 minutes long but definitely worth a watch

Very good player. Lime him a lot too. Fouls a little too much though. But will get better at that. His intelligence and passing are top notch though.

I'll take that. Fair enough. Pogba, Wiegl Sane. I'm ignoring the Neymar link until more concrete evidence materialize.

Who knows who Pep has lined up or is lining up for us? Almost all the names I haven't a clue about. That's my non knowledge of European football. It's very exciting.

Honestly, I think we'll be in for some major surprises in terms of who stays, who goes, who comes in. I can't wait to see how we line up next season. I don't expect a bunch of big name signings, I do expect some revelations both within the club and new signings. A manager like Pep can make stars he doesn't need to buy them.

And this year? Riny was better than Mahrez last year too. Things change, players improve a lot.

Rony has been out for most of the season, in his first game back for Lille he scored in the cup semi final.

Good for him. But he is not half the player Boufal is. Not even last year.

In 23 games Rony scored 3 goals and 3 assists all of last season. Created 28 chances in those games and had a 74% pass completion rate.

Boufal arrived in the January window, played in 14 games, starting only 11. In that period he created 34 chances, racked up 3 goal 6 assists in 10 fewer games and created 35 chances to boot. Had a 84% pass completion rate.

But if you wanna believe Rony was better last season, this season or any season. Have at it. Boufal pops off the screen when you watch him. Rony is a meandering midtable career midfielder. And while I hope he does well cuz he once played here, I don't pretend he has been anything other than average.

Boufal, is far from that. Clearly the best player at Lille since he has arrived there. And his ability to take on defenders at will, is what I cherish and believe Pep will too. Sorta like Coman does for him at Bayern now.

Stats don't always tell you everything mate, I watched 80% of Lille's games last year and Rony was the stand out player. In a way a bit like Silva King of the assist to the assist.

I watched at least 10 and he didn't stand out in any. Give me your best performance from him last season and I'll go watch it now. Then I'll give you Boyfala best game last year and we can compare.

Stats done say everything, but when a guy creates more chances, gets more assists completes more passes, more crosses, higher passing %, more Motm winning performances. 3 to 0 for Rony last season. In spite of playing half the games and joining the team midseason.

I agree stats don't tell the whole story,...but it sure says a lot.

He's that good of a player yet no one even considered him until we got linked in the French press in January.

Oh and I seem to remember a game around this time last year where he got motm against Lyon if I'm not mistaken with a goal and assist.

According to the stats, Ben Arfa is better than Boufal.

I don't think we need major surgery.
Two of the world's best fullbacks and Pogba would do. Sell or release sagna, Kolarov and clichy and move Zabaleta into midfield alongside Pogba.
Hart
New lb, two of Kompany, Otamendi, Mangala and Denayer. New rb.
Zabaleta Pogba
De Bruyne, Silva, sterling.
Aguero.

Never liked his purchase. But he might just sur

Finally, an opinion that disregards emotion.
That pretty much is the 8.

Everyone else is a maybe.
And regardless of who else gets to stay, I'd love it if we could get the following new additions
LB: Juan Bernat or Gaya (Ball playing LBs high on both)
RB: Bruno Peres or Fabihno or Piccini(Not as high on tge linked guy. But all are Multifunctional RBs)
CB: Armando Izzo or Jonathan Tah or Laporte/Stones ( not as high on the latter 2, but all ball playing CDs. The first 2 can actually defend)
DM: Julian Weigl or Xhaka (Ball playing DMs. high on Xhaka, intrigued by Weigl)
CM: Gundogan or Leandro Parades (Gundogan contract situation is great, but Paredes is an intriguing talent).
AM: Leroy Sane & Soufiane Boufal ( unike other positions, I am hoping for both)
This assumes we get neither one of Pogba or Neymar. If we do get either, we can drop the guy at their position.

That means 7 in. 6 out perhaps. Assuming no marque signing s. And by marque, I mean the biggest names (Messi, Neymar, Pogba etc)
I'll be most pleased with the following
Lb: Bernat
RB: Bruno Peres
CB: Izzo.
DM: Wiegl
CM: Paredes
AM: Leroy Sane
AM: Soufiane Boufal.

Not a lot of big names I know. But we'd be so much more talented with this squad.

Possession in the back and middle. And just pure scare the shit out of you talent in the front 4

Gk: Hart, Caballero, Lawler
LB: Bernat, Angelino
RB: Peres, Zab, Maffeo
CB: Kompany, Otamendi, Izzo, Denayer
DM: Fernandihno, Wiegl
CM: DeBryune, Silva, Delph, Parades
AM: Sterling, Sane, Boufal, Navas
ST: Aguero, Iheanacho
That would be my dream swqyad for a Pep managed City.

i tend to agree with you on the signings, pep rarely goes out and signs the big players like messi, neymar, and pogba. he seems to like to find the next upcoming stars and groom them, but thats just my opinion. i do however think that city want to make a splash and tell the world we are going to compete with real, barca, and bayern. if thats the case you can bet they will do everything in their power to go after pogba or neymar in the coming years

Sadly, and for the record he'd still get in my best 11 every week ahead of Sagna, I fear Zabba will become one of the first casualties of Guadiola's reign
