Our best cb is a little overkill, its VK, but hes staying. Him vk mangala and denayer is an amazing setup
I'm going by what has happened as opposed to who was best historically. Kompany hasn't played enough to be in the running for best CB this year. He may be our best historically, but currently, Ota is. The idea that he will be leaving ( a possibility) as anyone could leave, but he in my opinion falls into the less likely to leave group.

So, Ninjamonk listing him as amongst the 1st two to leave, made me laugh.

No worries. All about opinions. I just don't think Pep will be too pleased with his erratic at best positioning and at 28 i can't see him changing, it's not a case of him making mistakes like Mangala, it seems ingrained into him. Maybe shipping him out after 1 season is a bit much but i can't see him being a pep favourite, I see Mangala and Kompany as first choice with Denayer hopefully pushing them both for a starting spot.
True. But I can't see Mangala ahead of him. Komps Ota Denayer will be 123 in my opinion. If we don't get a CB. I sense Laporte will be a City player next year though.

with the 4 of vk, ota, mang and denayer i dont think we need to spend anything there at all. The focus needs to be in central midfield and fullbacks. 2-3 fullbacks with promoting Angelino and using Denayer there and 2-3 cms with using Silva and Nasri also playing there. Perhaps even a new striker/winger for bony ofc.

Pep Guardiola is ready to take the unpopular step of telling Manchester City they can sell David Silva in the summer, Football Insider sources understand.

Silva is widely regarded as one of City’s outstanding players and an integral member of two Premier League title triumphs as well as their ambitions to develop into one of Europe’s dominant teams.

But a City source has told Football Insider that Silva does not fit into Guardiola’s plans for how he wants the team to play next season.

The Etihad Stadium-bound manager does not believe Silva does enough work off the ball and is ready to sanction the sale of the Spanish playmaker.

Silva has been a firm favourite of City supporters and one of the first names on the teamsheet since his £22million transfer from Valencia in 2010.

In 248 matches for the club, he has scored 42 goals and supplied 87 assists, and his understanding with Sergio Aguero has been one of the most productive in the club’s history. He also signed a £190,000-a-week contract in the summer of 2014 that runs until 2019.

Pep talks: Guardiola will take over as Man City manager in the summer

Silva, who turned 30 last month, began the season in superb form but has been less effective since returning from an ankle problem that sidelined him for two months.

Guardiola will be given licence to overhaul the City squad when he takes over as manager from Manuel Pellegrini in the summer.

With three years remaining on Silva’s contract, City will be hopeful of receiving a £25million-plus fee for the player in the summer.

You don't half talk some shit at times, our best defensive partnership this season didn't even involve Otamendi.

I like the he young kid 'name escapes me now' who is in the eds. Can play CB or DM.
Bryan? Personally i prefer him as a DM but he can certainly do a job at centre half too,is he good enough in either position for our first team? Not yet would be my answer.

Well good, I'll go with who has been around for most of the games.

Just because you play more games it doesn't mean you've been better, we haven't conceded a single goal in the league when he has played and the only goals we did concede was to last seasons champions league finalists. Otamendi on the other hand has conceded an abundance of goals and to put it plainly he gives you one of 2 performances either a 5 or an 8 no in between, he either looks like a rock or a complete liability.
