I downloaded this and played a few games last night.

Bit late onto this, as I was on Holiday last week... Just downloaded it. What a waste of time. Absolute Gash again from Konami. It'll be Fifa 10 for me this year. Hands down.

Its going to be FIFA for me again this year. I have always bought PES right up to last years, when it went so shite, I traded it in the day after.

FIFA keeps improving over the years, while PES keeps taking one step forward and 10 back. Its truly awful to play now

I think that's just a myth to be honest. I don't think PES has been that realistic for a few years. It gets by on being very simple to play and the size of the pitch makes you feel like you have full control over the game. 5 years ago that was pretty much all that mattered - because it was very good.

I bought 09 just to compare it to Fifa and gave it about 3 weeks before i went back to Fifa. There were times when i enjoyed it but it didn't feel realistic. There are too many faults with it for it to be realistic. For example, the goalkeepers are amazingly poor and look too small for the nets. Sometimes when dribbling the ball would go through the defender for no apparent reason (even on hardest difficulty). Running down the wing and cutting inside to shoot is a guaranteed goal if using Robinho. The ball feels like it's on a bit of elastic on the end of your boot and every touch sounds like i'm beating a drum. The commentary makes your ears bleed.

It still wasn't bad game for £20 but Fifa blows it away. I used to swear by Pro Evo and i used to hate the lack of control i felt when i was playing Fifa, but 08 was good, 09 was great and going by the demo 10 is going to be amazing.

I find the same problems with gameplay but the other way round, maybe it is because I am used to playing PES that I find Fifa unresponsive, the ball swerves about like a cartoon and it seems to be the pace setting is unbelievable, once you beat a man you can just sprint and nobody can catch you, unrealistic pace. I take your points and like I say the Fifa demo was decent so I will give Fifa a good go this year to see if I change my mind.

Got the demo and was quite impressed, it feels a bit more responsive to me and there are a lot more scrambles for the ball. Had a couple of mates around and they think its improved, not massively but enough to be noticable although offsides are still shite!

Looking forward to the full release and doing some damage with the Blues!
